hey guys, got myself in a silly situation here, got given a car by a friend who was about to scrap it, so i started cleaning it up an told another friend, who's been waiting to learn to drive for ages she could have it! my dad took it for an mot and it failed miserabley on welding beyond our capabilities! so ive passed it on to a more skilled chap (minimad) but i now have a previously very excited friend who's now very :( that she's not getting a car to learn to drive in! (i know i shouldnt of mentioned it until it got thru the mot!)but i would really like to try an provide her with a car as promised so being really cheeky, does anyone have an old car in any condition but preff with a bit of mot an tax to get it home they would be willing to donate to a good home or sell very cheaply? :D as im writing this im thinking how cheeky am i for begging a car lol but it will be very much apreciated, if anyone knows of anything thanks Joe

Considering you gave the Maxi away and sold the Astra convertable very cheaply, plus the favour you did helping get the Maxi back here, you're hardly being cheeky Joe.Not got anything at the moment but heard of a bubble shaped Micra locally going for £250 with MOT and I think some rent for £250, want me to have a shufty for you?

The problem I see is that scrap prices have soared this month - over £150/tonne again. Good luck!

my mate is selling a mitzi lancer 1500 only about 37,000 miles on the clock few small dinks on paintwork with a mint interior, small blow on the exhaust £375 no offers t+t till july, should fly another test when you have the exhaust welded.

I'll go and knock about the Micra I mentioned yesterday Joe. Can't guarantee you'll get a result but worth a crack. There's also the early Mk3 Fiesta I mentioned very near me, but it's been sat there a very long time and could be as rough as they come. Happy to ask if you like though?

Or you could tell your friend to wait ... i sort out the Mk3 fiesta, then you buy that back ?So many options !Cavette if he does not reply, then pop me a message and i will txt him, as i don't think he uses the interwebs alot

Letter left through box about Micra yesterday. Not heard anything yet but will keep you posted.I'll try and get five this evening and knock about the Fiesta. From the back it doesn't look too bad but I've not been round it all yet as it's on someone's drive. If I get any success with either they're both a stones throw from my palatial home so could get either back here and try and fire them up.

certainly, shes a 1961 consul 375 with 3 speed manual gearbox and 1703cc engine, taxed(exempt anyway) an short MOT june i think, needs a new set of H/T leads(temporary repair) an could do with an air filter, i have been using it daily an it drives quite well, bit of whine on gearbox an it may need a bit of welding for the next MOT, theses a spare steering column/full set of glass/some chrome and a few other bits with it, it is currently white with black interior but both interior an exterior have been changed from new, i think it was originally olive green with pale green/blue interior,it carries reg number DSL274 but this is non-transferable,car is good considering its nearly half a century old and is perfect for something you could use and restore as you go, im selling because my mum says i have too many cars! looking for £850 for it :D

He hasn't started work on it yet Tayne (Don't worry i have been bugging him to get it done too)
