Does anyone remember this place for a few years ago?

I was wondering if its still there, but I cant remember where it is.. Castle Gresley, or Measham way I think. I used to drive past it quite regularly.

Someone on the Maestro forum wants to get in touch with the owner, Im sure it was just a case of rining the number on one of the cars. I wonder of they can be seen on google streetview?

Looks like he gave it in in 1998, there'd still be a bit of a market for some of those cars, even though they're looking a bit weathered now.

Done a little investigation on this, the post code is DE11 9LP if you want to see it on Google maps! If you look at street view the cars are still all there, amazing.

if he ever goes back to selling then he is gonna have to bump up those prices :D

And if you swing over on Google street view to DE12 6JS you'll see a rather splendid yellow TR3 parked in a laybye, just after the roundabout going north up the A444. I really must do some work...

One of the pics says it's in Church Gresley near Swadlincote in Derbyshire.

I'd like one of those basic steel-bumpered 1300 maestros, I bet theyre quite fun to punt along at low speed. They look good too, better than the 2-tone placca bumpered version IMO.

They are my pic's  The cars were sorned not taxed and had not moved for years as the owner stepped back from it all when his wife died.Lanky tim - sending pm with contact details. :D

Lankytim - I rang the guy at the garage, goes by the name of Grenville. All the cars are available but at those prices. They were meant to be 'starter cars' as he put it, for new and young drivers to start out in. Then along came the boom of new cars on finance and all the motors at the garage fell by the wayside.I enquired about the yellow Astra that is there, he did want a bit for it but was actually not too bad considering it has been sat for 12 years! It is available to see on StreetView...

Cheers fellas! I cant believe those clunkers are still there. They may be quite well preserved, protected from rain but with a good flow of air around them to get rid of damp. No doubt hey would need quite a bit of work to get on the road though... and even then there would be bits failing or breaking off for month afterwards.I too wouldnt mind a metal bumpered maestro, but it would have to be a CITY-X with the van style headrests and recessed headlamps. The red maestro at the garage is a 1600 auto, bit of a strange spec.

Well if a 1600 auto maestro isnt your bag, how about a renault master minibus?

That Astra does look alright. Yeh its been stood for a good long while but if you are an Astraperv, where else are you going to find a relatively straight, original base model Astra?
