I try my best to get it to as many meets as possible although theres not that many meets in the North East, im moving to Norfolk soon and i'm hoping they are a bit more retro friendly

I am sure if you "put the feelers out" and see how many Shiters are interested in a meet in the North East, you could organise your own meet ?

Worth a punt i guess :D

Yeh i could do, im fortunate that my sis and her boyfriend are retro crazy as well,so we tend to go out together and meet up with some of the cars.

Sadly its more saxos/corsas and meeting up in car parks burning tyres up here, i just get people trying to race me and i can't be bothered

I've got the Starion horn now, cheers :lol:

Welcoms, mighty fine fleet you've got!

Just clocked this thread, hello :)

Thats a nice collection you have. The 527 is a cracker. I'd be pretty proud at a meet full of moderns if I had something older and more interesting!

I've now moved work places to Norfolk and settled down in Norwich.

Just a quick one really, is there any members in Norwich or the surrounding area, could organise a meet up every now and again etc...???

Im new to round here and unsure if there is any meets?

Hi, I am in New Buckenham, a few miles down the A11 and across a bit through the fields. I am working abroad a lot at the mo, but hopefully will be in UK a lot more after June. I also intend to get the Jag finished once and for all this Summer so I may be seen increasing the carbon footprint of the Larling Angel car park on the occasional meet (if they still do them). That's down the A11 on the left, after Attleborough, but before Thetford.

We should probably try and organize a meet at St George Distillery, just down the road from there. Autoshite and Whiskyshite (although I hear it is actually quite good). I can show you a recently taken photo of an IL62M and you can tell me why the VC10 is better.

There are a few of us around Norfolk - they'll introduce themselves I'm sure.

Nice motors, lancia HPE, Starion & 480 tubby are on my list of cars to own one day, so a bit of envy from me.

I'm up in Lincs, but occasionally visit Norfolk as my brother lives in Wells-next-the-sea.

Right, time for a long overdue update. The BMW and Lancia have now gone, sold to members on here.

The volvo has also gone but it suffered quite an undignified end. Having sold it to someone who promised to repair it's rusty rear arches, he promptly raped it of its turbo engine and mint leather interior, what was left ended up in the bin :roll:

Me, my sister and her other half had quite a few stock changes, here's a few of them.

You might be able to tell my profession lets me deal with all manners of obscure, shite old aircraft, Vickers VC10 and Harriers to name a few.

Small world - I used to fly VC10s on 10 Sqn back in the late 80s before moving to Wildenrath as a Harrier GR3 simulator instructor.

To answer the above question on the IL62....... It does the job but the VC10 is just beautiful to look at and is an absolute joy to fly. A commercial disaster, of course, but a wonderful aeroplane and still holds a number of speed records.

Are the Mitsubishis not your brother's? Does he still run Mitsu-Mech?

The Celeste is definitely his. I know that because I sold it to him. I still have a full set of seatbelts for it if he's happy to pay the postage on them.

I was the poor sod who missed out on your 480 Turbo by seconds, or you read the wrong email first - I forget exactly what happened. I do recall saying to you that it wouldn't stay in one piece if someone from the 480OCE got their hands on it - unfortunately I was proved right.

Hello, also.

Yeh the celeste is my brother In laws, we all put money together and buy the cars so they are used by/ looked after by all of us :-)

As for the 480, yeh I took the guys word on it, he was going to look after it, he lied and I learnt a lesson. However anyone can say they are going to restore and treasure a car and then promptly engine rape it. At least it gave up parts to keep others on the road, not the end I wanted though :(
