Is this 1275cc A+ lump worth saving?

I spent an hour or so today taking the engine from my Maestro van apart. All the good stuff has been stripped off and now im left with the rattly bottom end. Theres quite a wear ridge in the bores, the con rods feel loose on the the crank and when I had it running the crank had a real grumble to it plus the oil pressure light flickered at idle. Its basically borked.

Question is, do I chuck it in the scrap pile or is worth a punt on ebay?

The engine number is 12HC23 139993. The block also has WFM 1120 NWB on the side. Whatever that means.

I may even remove the crank and pistons, give it a lick of paint and pot a few flowers in the bores. Might make a nice garden ornament!

Meh, bung it on ebay. You never know, some cool and original mini person might buy it by accident.

Weigh it in, turn it into a plant pot, drop it onto the head of someone you don't like - because it lacks the ability to go into a Mini I'd expect it to not be worth much!

I'd honestly clean it up and then paint it silver and then put it on ebay. Hi-temp silver or red paint makes an engine look 10 times better!

Paint it?? Id only expect it to make a fiver or so on ebay at most. I guess I could out MAY FIT MINI in the title and as M'coli says let some uneducated miniist purchase it for mega coin.

I'd go for making some sort of garden ornament out of it personally.

No, but if anyone has a dog/cat they want to drown in a freezing canal they may find this useful. Is this FORUM turning into MACDROITWICH?
