Any stereo decoders in the house? Have a Ford Fuckus with one of them there double din stereo things and could do with a code. Happy to pay a reasonable amount by Paypal or whatever.

Don't pay anything.Pop the headunit out, and give me the number that begins with "M" on the side / back of it. I will then give you the code.

Aye. Fords are one of the easiest to decode, certainly don't pay for the service! I was interested to see a chap in a breakers yard today (I was trying to get a new bonnet for the twatmobile) decoding a head unit.... with a multimeter and test probes. I couldn't see exactly what he was doing, but he'd got the top off and appeared to be probing test points on the board. He came back 5 minutes later, told the guy the code and took £10 off him. Seemed quite an old-fashioned yet nice way of doing it. Looked like a VAG head unit.

Pete, you're a bloody star. Many thanks for that.

I always write the code on top of the stereo in marker pen once I know it.
