SD1 lives again, and now sports a Range Rover alternator (80A instead of 65A), so all going well, I'll see you there tomorrow.

e30 is still dead. Well no thats not true, it runs and drives but only into the garage as the pipe that goes into the bottom of the thermostat has snapped off. Looks like a right pig to get off and I won't be able to get bits till monday, and won;t be able to fit them until Thursday at the earliest. 6hours and its still not done. Today hasn't been a good day.Still hoping to be there tomorrow, now with escRot as our carriage obviously.

Posted

Still planning on being there as well. Most likely in R4 unless rain stops play in which case it'd be the SEAT (Sprinter too tall for car park I guess?)Anyone else planning on attending?

Posted

I'm going to be there. Not sure what in though.

Posted

I shall be there in sporty Japanese slightly battered shite.

Posted

Will be there from 12.45 in the Citroen.Sorry.

Posted

Don't worry, I'm deliberating on if I can be arsed getting the R4 out of the garage, putting fuel in it and slowly making my way across or if I should just think something along the lines of 'Fuck it' and come in the utterly filthy 09 plate Vx Combo rental van which is currently full of diesel.Better decide in the next ten minutes...

Posted

Im still sat at home in Wakefield. Ive not tryed starting escRot this morning, but aslong as it fires, we're on our way

Posted

Right, I'm gonna go and feed the SD1 some fuel. See whoever is gonna be there in an hour or so.Oh, Mr Lobster, bring the R4 man... can't all be modern 'daily' stuff there :P

Posted

VERY impressed with the turn out and banter today lads. Will upload the shots from fatha_Wat's camera soon. I've realised I've only try with my shots when I have something shite and disposable (i.e. my C902) in my hand - so don't expect miracles.

Was good today, looking forward to pictures.Does appear that I've got a bit of sunburn on my head as well so thats a bonus!

Most of the skin on my neck has fallen off if that's any consolation.

I was bummed £3.50 for a four hour stay.Just uploading the pictures now. My computer DOES NOT LIKE 4000 x 3000 pictures. I really like fatha_Wat's SX20 though. It's a good mix between a thicko compact and a full on, shit-your-brains out DSLR.

I decided to demonstrate my MAD_ORGANISATION_SKILLZ by getting there first, and immediately banishing the C4 to the overhead mezzanine of hatred.

sporty_shite turned up first in his ST 182.

A really impressive turn out this time.

Two V8 machines in attendence.

Jonathan on his way out. He'd corked the headers at this point. I was also reminded of that old driving game 'Powerdrive.' 8)

Surprise of the day for me must have been vim's Renault 15. I'm sorry mate, but I couldn't make your car look pretty. Didn't stop me from loving it massively (LONG TIME), but by Christ is it fugly.

A certain SD1 turned up.

Man and beast in perfect harmony.

Mk1_4Dr and Mrs Mk1_4Dr also turned up. They came from Wakefield and his significant other was nursing an epic hangover \ hayfever \ Sale mist, so huge respect. Why does he look like he's in Bonneville?

He'd come in the E-SCROTE because his E30 was being a mard and only running on 5.

So TRA Q Park. You were weird, you were desolate, you were 30 foot up in the air.

Next date to be arranged! Thanks to everyone who turned up......

I didn't bring my video camera mate. There's always a next time. FWIW, it shifted. Wasn't as quick off the line as the Shuvit though, although I suspect you'd get away from Jonathan past 60.Dave got you on video I think.SCTSH_ANDY would have been quick had his 9000 got any traction from a standing start. He pulled out down Station Road and pinged off the limiter twice in a haze of tyre smoke. He needs that remap that locks out most of the torques until third. Either that or when he gets his hybrid turbo, his gearbox will explode.

Most of the time, oui. I realised that some special chod was gonna show today, so I blagged fatha_wat's Canon SX20 which has a 12.1 megapixel sensor. It's fucking ace. Might be time I actually bit the bullet and upgraded.

Well if you keep producing photo's like that then i recoken it's well worth spashing out on a decent camera as they look great. It's my 30th next Saturday and i have a funny feeling Mrs. Triggers getting me a decent camera as a surprise, She keeps commenting how good Canon is and she hasn't a clue about cameras.Last year after taking a crap photo of something she commented on how "she was no David Bellamy"!:lol:

Looks like it was fun, wonderfully varied line-up as per the Autoshite way.

MK1_4Dr looks strikingly like Hamilton Leithauser from

, but showing more crack.

What a QUAL meet. It was good to meet so more new folks, sorry I didn't end up talking to sportyshite, Lobsta or vim, but it was nice to natter to Pete_m, SCTSH_ANDY and Wat_ himself. I was well impressed by everything there, the SD1 was as evil looking as I had hoped, and it sounded the part. I love the way the exhaust sits out of the back. The Saab looked gorgeous inside, the Aero seats are something else, and the planned upgrades sound like they'll make a monster out of it 8) .Jon's Shuvit is epic, so well finished and a real credit to him. By hell it looked quick aswell (vid to come tonight  )The R4 van is ace, I can't understand why you need a sprinter when you have this? Also what are the little switches underneath the headlights for?I know little about Celicas as it is, was the ST182 AWD? or is that just the GT4s? Then there was the real suprise, the R15. Not only have I never seen one up close before, but if I had been asked yesterday morning, I wouldn't have known what it looked like 8) Oh yeah, and the C4, but lets not go there.Top deck of a multistory does afford some great views, and although we didn't get sunburnt, if we'd have been there for more than 45mins I can see how it could happen.I'll get my pics and such up tonight, I have only had a glance at them myself. Two last things for Wat_, I'll sort out geting those speakers off you (I really can't believe I forgot) and that pic of me is horrific, I owe you for that

They're for levelling the headlights to compensate for load. Most 1970s Renaults seemed to have them, I'm sure there would be some on the R15 too.

R4 is for fun, Sprinter is a working van! R4 aint big / fast / comfy enough for hauling around our stock / show kit etc and generally doing a few hundred miles in a day without complaint!

WRONG! On R4 they are for changing headlights from dipping to left to right if you are driving on t'other side of t'road in France like. At least I'm fairly sure they are...GR8 meet though and good to meet people. Probably best to consider relocating though, neighbours could get upset as V8s reverberate through their executive apartments :)
