I've finally decided to try and get all my backlogged images on to here, so will try and start with the oldest first. These are a couple of years old and pre-date my knowledge of Autoshite!

Let's start in New Zealand, March/April '08:

Chrysler Valiant and wannabe Ucle Silvia

Posted Image

Cool Bedford tourist bus, Fox Glacier

Posted Image

Even cooler ute - Holden Kingswood?

Posted Image

Then on to a museum in Geraldine, north of Timaru. Bit of a strange collection but pleasant enough.

Posted Image

Berkeley with 4060 miles from new!

Posted Image

Someone's pension

Truly Autoshite - 1960 International Travelall

GR8 4 BMW scrappage deal

Overdone? Still a beauty

Tractorshite

Apparently this is almost identical to my grandad's first 'car'

Posted Image

I also went to the brilliant Horopito scrap yard but I've posted those pics before, here:

On the way home we had an overnight stop in a crummy hotel in Seoul, next to a 'Mumbership Club' strip joint. This was it's advertising van - more effort than a Ford Cargo in a field next to the motorway I suppose.

Next up, last year's classic car show in Wakey!

Posted

Love the International & the Berk - bet you could transport that on the Travelall roofrack!

These pics are from June last year and was a pretty good show, especially for free. Had all the best bits of any car show, including a pa system that spouted out stuff no-one was listening to (with lots of cut-outs thrown in for good measure) and also cars with their bonnets up:

The guy on the right looks like he's blowing an imaginary cock!

Yummy.

Gerry Anderson styling Marcos...

...and fire engines

Can't beleive TVR would sell you a car with no passenger door mirror. Tight!

Posted Image

great colour

Posted Image

old meets new. Only noticed the old dear in the passenger seat of the blue one after I'd taken the photo.

Posted Image

Mrs_Cav like this but only because it was painted green

Mk1_4drs Mk1 4dr

Some interloper

Then when I got home, this Singer parked down our street. Never seen it again since and don't remember seeing it at the show. Spooky

More to come when I get the chance.

Yes, lovely shots.

Just do a web search for number plate areas or something. I know I've found tables full of it all in the past, covering all eras.

Love these - great old things, and from experience could easily outlast any Volvo truck of the same period.

Would that be an Imp in the background?

Yes, it's mine, hence the slightly distorted angle of that Singer, to try and get it in the background. Had been off the road about 5 years by the time of that pic but managed to get it back on the road to use as my wedding car in November, with 5 days to spare!

Here's how it looks now:

Posted Image

Cunningly disguising all the rot and overall making it look much better than it is but at least it's roadworthy again and I can steadily improve it.

Posted

Great pics, love the Herald Coupe with the wide steels, and the ERF looks like some sort of ballast tractor....haulin a rock crusher maybe...?Imp looks hot too 8)

On to my honeymoon now and a quick trip over to NZ to visit relatives and generally have a laugh.

It's always nice to just blend in and not look like a tourist and I'm glad we chose this camper.....

Posted Image

Thankfully no HGF issues in 3 weeks and 4000km, nor any wacky grapics of Elvis and suchlike.

1st spot to make it to my camera was this sweet Zephyr near New Plymouth

Posted Image

Then a Kiwi-style camper on a mid-'80s Ford Falcon ute a few K's down the road.

Posted Image

Next tat spotting opportunities came along in Napier and provided the best results

Mrs_Cav took this shot but still managed to bag a Ford Fairmont. Top skills!

There seems to be a cult following for Ladas in NZ but I don't think it stretches to this one

Posted Image

Can't remember when I last saw one of these

Posted Image

HB Viva with nice patina

Posted Image

Saw this garage at the roadside in Rotoma on the way to Rotarua, so had to stop. Something for everyone here

Posted Image

Posted Image

Later on, I saw a couple of fantastic facelift MK1 Capris in Kaitaia but only managed this semi-fail shot :(

Posted Image

Cape Rienga car park and not much of a spot really, but it's nice to see a works trailer in daily use using Austin 1100 wheels. Delica also I suppose, if that floats your boat.

Posted Image

This last shot was also the nearest I got to getting a pic of a Tredia in the car park but then its owners turned up and I bottled it. Should I hand in my membership papers or something?

Other fails included some cool Holdens, a mint unmodified 1971 mini, Fiat 125 and Fiat 128 3P! Loads of Jap tat to the point that it's not even interesting!
