I think that style of West Coast lowrider paintjob will suit it well. It's certainly making people take note while looking authentic/artistic enough to actually be appreciated by most instead of the very very few. Naturally the problem is that it takes a lot more patience than a bright, solid color respray.

I am actually falling in love more with this car than I like to admit.ย
It really is quiteย ย very comfortableย

ย

As far as complex, time consuming paint is concerned, I donโ€™t want super complex, but like the idea of varying the designs.ย
ย

Nothing cast in stone. Yet.ย

Been out in the Grizzโ€™s Folly ย car again, it is an addiction for sure. So quick to have turned me from everything else I have to drive.ย
ย

On the way home I decided to stop by the at my favourite hand car wash.ย
ย

Pressure cleaned, hand washed, โ€œspray polishโ€ pressure washed again and hand dried and wheels detailed.ย
ย

Nothing much, but despite getting home after 4.00pm with failing light, you can see a noticeable difference from the dull car I have driven the last week.ย
ย

Paint is obviously unchanged, still damaged, faded, lacquer peeled, peeled but cleaning it up has certainly opened up the longer, sleek lines of the car, that can be missed by distractions and negative press and opinions.ย
ย

I am really thinking that this car can benefit from no more than 50mm or 2 inches of lowering. Just need to figure out how cheaply we can do it in England with locally available spring ms and shock absorbers ย

Looking much better already!

Dont worry about sourcing things locally too much, as long as they are available on Rockauto or through eBay international shipping they are likely to be cheaper even with postage and vat considered. I'm not aware of any store being able to beat Rockauto on pricing or delivery speed unless it's a commonly found parts in the UK/Europe.

Morning Glenn

Redoing just the clear, not going to be easy, ever.ย
ย

To get it it looking decent (halfway isnโ€™t good enough) would be a ton of work.ย
ย

My plans will change, but include a radical colour change, style change and a shit ton of hatred generation.ย
ย

I know everyone has an opinion on how to approach this carโ€ฆโ€ฆ but therein lies the rub.ย
ย

THIS IS NOT AIMED AT YOU, I WRITE ON ABOUT ย 8 FORUMS ย and a bunch of very different Facebook groups.
If I were to litsen to everyone it would look like the rainbow with one side lifted, one side dropped and wing on the rear with nascar side exit exhaust.ย
ย

I am going to generate so many haters.ย
ย

But as I always say, it was a ยฃ1500.00 car which has cost me about ยฃ250.00 so far in bits like the tyres and battery. ย So they should have bought it or come save it from me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Quite agree,

your ride your way,ย

I only try to help with advice where it helps you get to your destination, trouble is, your destination keeps changingย

Budget makeover becomes full colour change and full on lowrider metalflake, not a budget task, but however you move forward, be sure you have me cheering you on and dropping stupid ideas in equal amountsย

ย

I absolutely love you and a few of the regulars and irregulars helping.ย
ย

I absolutely donโ€™t have any ideas or plans that are fixed, except that I want someone to want this car to enjoy once I am done with it.ย
ย

Keep in mind, it could be me.ย
ย

Right now, Iโ€™m thoroughly enjoying its whole character and charm.ย

Remember the Key issue I had previously?

Having had the car handed over with instructions that there were separate keys for ignition, doors and trunk.ย
ย

I also found in the last week that the door hinges and locks were all tight and uncooperative in some cases.ย
ย

So today I investigated and I guess solved to some extent these problems.ย
ย

I also got in under the hood a bit.ย
ย

Outside temperature was 4โ€™C with a breeze.ย
ย

A quick video for anyone interested in watching videos.ย
