Did someone say "Shite trips"?

Because I've just agreed to buy a 900cc Fiat Cinquecento for my impending relocation to Czech. Unfortunately, it's in Warrington, has been lowered, and I'm gonna be driving it solo for the trip with it loaded to the gunnels with bits and bobs, tools, clothes, living essentials (books, computer, and other stuff that isn't written in Czech). However, I'm going to tweak it a bit first to make it handle, fit 14" Punto steels and whatever comfier seats I can transplant from a Punto, front anti-roll bar from a Seicento etc.Oh, and it's getting stickered up like the Czech flag (the Cinquey is white) with the Union flag on the bootlid. Can't drive across Europe without a silly sticker combo. It's the law innit?

So when do you head of to Czech Pete?

I'm off as soon as the BMW sells, because that's paying for it.Need to get Escort suspension bits in the Fiat as well, I'd forgotten those. Oh, and once I'm there I'll probably have to drive the Cinque to Munich and back to pick up more Escort bits.Has to be a decently Autoshitey way of doing things. Oh, what'll a loaded Cinquecento do to the gallon at 65ish? 40?

That sounds like a right lark, I hope to see lots of pics. Actually, it sounds like the sort of thing a lazier man than myself might describe with words like 'British eccentric' 'blitz spirit' and 'jolly jaunt'.Possibly an article for the next issue of Original Tin in this journey?

Bon voyage! My old Polo did exactly 40mpg when it was well loaded and cruising at 75-80mph, I'd have thought you'd see 45+mpg at 65mph, depending on how many uphill sections there are

Don't forget the Aframe - to tow my Zuk back!

Excellent. Consider the best car for the job and then reject it for something utterly shite! The best way to think. Look forward to a write up.

Good work! Something slightly larger might have been better though :D Are Cinquecentos easy to get rid of in Czech or something?
