BL "Blaze" was a Rebel colour, Reliant, bless 'em, called it "Terracotta!"

It was bright orange FFS, come on Reliant, call it like it is!

(You've seen the piccie of mine, that was the colour), but I voted "other" 'cos I think it needs to be a really bright colour like Dynorod [dayglo] orange, Magenta, lurid, fluorescent green or maybe that shade of green that used to be seen on Saab 95s like this one:

Trust me, small cars need to be bright, or drivers of modern stuff won't see you and then, when they do, they won't let you overtake. Twats. [/breathe.....]

One of my Rebels was matt black, it might as well have been completely invisible. But the Blaze one and an even brighter red one I had, well those, oddly, were treated with respect and even affection by other road users. Funny old World. Paint it in a colour that makes the eyes bleed.

Paint some rust on it.

The doors rot quite badly enough that, if you're really lucky, you won't have to fake it. 8)

Sorry for the EPIC fail but ...It says something like Baharma Blue, but sets more like the darker colour in the middle of the tin.

Anyway ... off to get a gasket set for the 700cc engine i go !

You sure it's not Ford Bermuda Blue?

The colour the run out MK 4 Escort Eclipses and early Mk 5 Escort Encore were painted in?.

Glad you like it VWP.Trigger i'm not 100% sure to be honest, it looks like it says Baharme blue, but i could be very wrong  Milford, i'm going to spray the bonnet and see what it looks like. But if it look's over the top, then back to white !Thanks for the interest guys

You'll need to get the GRP parts of the body very smooth before putting metallic on it! That stuff will show every ripple and every slight flaw.

But hey, a few Hours with a tub of gelcoat filler and a bit of patience and it'll be smooth until the first time you go over a speed hump with it, the chassis wriggles about and the shell suddenly has a few ripples that weren't there that Morning.

Only trouble would be that it would look far too respectable in that colour, more http://www.trailerqueens-r-us.com/ than autoshite. :D

Being a with it youngster maybe a Nissan inspired Flip Paint scheme will suit you? Have you thought about painting it pink and putting a sticker on the rear window saying it is powered by fairyliquid or whatever and giving it to Ms Minimad5 as a gift?

   What on earth has Minimad5's lass done to deserve that? I discovered, during my Reliant owning days, that women tend to prefer chocolates, flowers or something from Ann Summers' catalogue** to shite cars.** Just FFS, don't make her buy her own batteries..........

HAHA  GJR, lets just hope your lady does not see what you posted.Or you will be killed !!I'm not into flip style paint, and i only wanted to use the blue as it was a free tin i had knocking about.I sprayed a patch on the bonnet today, and it doesn't look as nice as i wanted. So i may chicken out and get some thick white coach paint, and lash it on with a brush !As for the fairdust & pink ... NO !And i can't give the car to Miss Minimad5, as after a year and 3 months, she decided to call it a day. And is now helpfully ignoring me. So i get to keep it all for myself :D

I think you will find that's because a Rampant Rabbit is made of better plastic and has a more powerful engine than a side valve Regal.

Yeah, Blue doesn't look too bad does it ? :) .. okay you have to look past the mould , but it is a pretty decent colour

 The rarest of the rare there; 700 and uncut for windows, most of those were 750s, that's stood around a while before someone bought it, registered March '73 but built July '72.

Pity about the bigger wheels, but wash the algae off and.......

...you'd still have 'orrible paintwork.

That last saw the Queen's highway in late 1999, so it's unlikely to go straight through a test without, from memory (so there may be more); welding to the outriggers and rear spring platforms, brake cylinders-all 6 of them, floor repairs to the driver's footwell and a bloody good wash.

Try finding an original, unpainted one (all sent out in gelcoat apart from the doors, which would be primed to prevent rot) for the dealer to finish), that's where the kudos is.

Near you ?Little poo update !Managed to get the tank back on the Fiesta today, and fill it with some fresh petrol, then the battery decided it had enough of life, and promptly died !I have put the Rebel one on charge for now, and plan on getting the Fiesta running tomorrow.I also re-fitted the brake pipes, put the wheels on (that helps !) and mounted the door on the Rebel, with help of some metal, a pop-riviter and some nifty grinding skills.Seing the fiesta back on ground, really makes me smile !! :D Will try get some pictures tomorrow.... ooh and i looked like a weirdo, covered in soggy mud, with stones in my hair / head.Is that dedication , or stupidity ?
