Most of the stock is newer stuff like Mondeo's, Vectras, SAABs etc but around the back is this lot, This is only a small amount as there are 100's of car's round there, Many which have been of the road for years.

Enjoy.

Now this Mercedes 280E excited me, It's a one lady from new, 102000 mile model, Full History, Coimes from a local garage and was lovely, Even still had it's orignal first aid kit.

Sadly the floor was a rotten as a pear and the garage wanted £1500 for it!

Do they sell parts off any of the cars? That 626 could be useful.

I doubt it but you never know, You'd never get it out without having to move 50 car's neither!

Sounds familiar, Car Mechanics magazine may have featured the place a few years back when you could pick up cars that had been used for smuggling etc., quite cheap.

Amazing. Some stuff there would surely fetch some coin flogged on: Those 307SW's seem to make a good bob on the bay...I'd like to think all those Omegas and Granada's were 'snatched' from the car parks of rough council-estate pubs.

It's all for sale Pog. The reason everything hangs around for so long is that it's all well overpriced. I had a look back when i first started the banger rallies in 04 and they wanted 400 quid plus for old Cavs with the sills literally hanging off. Back then, pre silly scrap prices, you could have found better dumped in lay-bys.It was also full of utterly utterly fucked vans and Volvo estates that had been seized from career booze-cruisers.I had a look at their website recently and the pricing policy doesn't appear to have changed.

What a great business model, instead of getting thousands for cars that are a few years old, sit on them until they rot into the ground. Nice to see theyre sticking to it too, that 307`ll be on here again in 10 years time.

If that's the gaff in Marks Tey, run by three Mockney wide-boys, I bought a scruffy as fuck XJ-S H.E from them in 2001. For £400.Ex-g/f's dad drove me there from Newmarket promising me loads of really nice cheap cars that had been impounded by Customs. I got there and there was a load of overpriced crap. I wasn't happy, so I asked 'em if they had any Jags that might just possibly be capable of making it to Newmarket (I figured as I'd made the trip down there, I may as well drive back in something a bit nicer than ex's dad's Escort van). Mockney No1 tried to flog me a dog rough D or E plate XJ40 2.9 for £1200. "No mot mate, or it'd be double that". Mockney #2 suggested a really obscenely rough manual 3.4 Series 3 for £1200 - there's a theme here, Mockney #1 then dug out the roughest looking, mould covered XJ-S from somewhere and told me it could be mine for £1200. I was pissed off with them at this point so I got them to steam clean it and fire it up. It worked, so I offered them £250. They half-heartedly washed it and chucked in a battery and I drove it back (on 7 or 8 cylinders). With the headlining resting on my head and no wipers. Quality purchase. Not.Cost me £100-odd to get it to Liverpool (not including a day regluing the headlining and rebuilding the wiper motor), but it made it. Came back on 12 cylinders after about £40's worth of fuel had been through it in about 100 miles.. Used it for a fortnight or so commuting to work and then flogged for £650 to some muppet who stopped me in traffic begging to buy it.A444KRT it was. I have a picture somewhere. 'orrible thing.

Interesting to see what they have. Living fairly local I always remember seeing the ad's and it sounded an interesting place. I probably won't visit them next time I'm in the market for anything though...

This place is on the A12 behind a shed shop, IIRC.Don't be too taken in by the website either, I don't think they take off the stuff that is sold / crushed. There's a Rover 800 on there that proudly proclaims "MOT UNTIL 2004"...

Ever seen that programme on the National Geographic channel 'Life After People' ?They could film some scenes here."8 years after people, the cars left to their own fate in this junkyard in England are slowly succumbing to mother nature, the bushes are becoming more and more ovegrown and slowly but surely are swallowing these cars up,the interiors gradually becoming overrun with moss and vegetation, their tyres cracked and all petrol in their tanks long since evaporated. In 100 years there will be a forest here and all traces of the cars long gone & buried, except maybe for a few bits of plastic and broken glass that is the only clue that a car junkyard once stood here."

I posted a load of photos up in my last spotted thread....I'll find it and bump it up...

Amazingly that Bluebird has now gone but the Escort behind it and Carlton beside it are still there as is the green Rover 820 that Rod mentioned.

I think the problem is most of the stuff is overpriced, I have the list here with the prices and the older stuff is way to expensive, How does £1750 for a W reg Escort 1.6 Flight sound?, That's still in the yard covered in moss as well.

And also the high mileage is a factor, My dad was looking at a 06 plate Saab 9-5 1.9 DID, It was a nice looking car but half the trim was missing around the interior (Not uncommon here), Battery was missing and under the bonnet was a sticker saying the cambelt had been changed at 139000 miles in November last year, All for £5950.

Also a lot of the car's are missing keys and what with modern key's being electronic they just get left in the back of the yard to rot away, Here are a couple more.

Been here since 2004 but still up for £1250 on the website.

If your local or passing then i would recommend having a look, just for the experience, It's behind C F Andersons timber yard just of the A12.

Yes it was but it had a very holey floor which i pointed out to the saleman but he still wanted £1500 for it, Shame as the rest of the car looked mint.

This is listed for £450... 2.9 slushbox stretch Granny.

Had to click through page after page after page of 1997P/R Mondeos though, what is it with them? Fuggin' endless!

(*Pillock remembers he was once the owner of a 1997 Mondeo that he stopped paying the finance on......)

I didn't see that Granny there anymore but i wonder what the story behind that is?, Seized due to drug smuggling maybe or reprossed during a funeral service?.Most of the Mondeos are still there i think, The yard is full of them rotting into the ground again, There was also a old coach type thing in the corner of the warehouse as well!.
