FredTransit Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Just over on BSC chat room. Would there be any call for one here?
Milford Cubicle Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Might take some of the drivel off the main board.
trigger Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I think the answer is no, more chat = less good threads imho.
RedSparrow Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Yeah, really, no.Can't stand live chat things, and seriously I think the post count on here wouldn't justify it.
Mr Lobster Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 No. Can't see the need / point personally.
VWPowered Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 i dont need it either :)like the board as it is
seth Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Why would I want to exchange short messages with you lot?
AnthonyG Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Why would I want to exchange short messages with you lot? It's bad enough with long ones !Whats BSC? - Bachelor of Science? British Steel Corporation?
FredTransit Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 Buy Sell Cortina www.buysellcortina.co.uk not surprisingly it's a cortina forum!
Mr_Bo11ox Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I think a chat board would SUCK MAJOR ASSUnfortunately it seems to be inevitable that the more folk sign up, the more inane virtual waffle fills up the forum, so I dont know if its actually a good idea to create a virtual chemical toilet bit to basically allow people to put uninteresting posts about their neighbours, pets, TV presenters, kids of today etc straight in without bothering other users who want to read something vaguely interesting and/or car-related. See the grumpy old man thread, which has got as many pages as all other threads put together, yet has almost no car content.
FredTransit Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 Yes it has. And? Did I wander onto RR by mistake?
Pillock Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Why would I want to exchange short messages with you lot?OMG! KTHKSBAI.(lol)Or, more seriously..... I think the level here is pretty good. 90% of the threads have some car link, with exception of the grump/anti-grump threads which are there as a catch-all really. Anything else non-car seems to get shoved down the board pretty quickly.48 threads on main page. 6 totally non-car including the +/-grump.A further 4 or so with tenuous shite linkage...... It's not bad really! Leaves 38 threads just on the main page which is enough to settle down with a Fursty Ferret to.
Milford Cubicle Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Yes it has. And? Did I wander onto RR by mistake? We need Bo11ox as a shite father figure to keep our inane drivel to the minimum, don't you think?A few threads are pretty tedious, I only wander into them out of habit.
Guest Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I like the "Grumpy" and "Grin" threads as they keep all that stuff concentrated in there, rather than me doing a whole new thread about those irritating British Gas adverts with big-headed people. It's when it spills out of there that it's a problem.
Mr Lobster Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 The balance is about right here I'd have said. You will always get a bit of 'off topic' stuff but those two threads seem to catch most of it so no need for anything else really.
carlo Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Milford, is your avatar that creepy bloke who was done for some peeping tom escapade in Wales or Scotland - amazing looking character!
Milford Cubicle Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 That's right, I think he's from Lancashire though.
Mr Lobster Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 He was mayor of Fleetwood. Tells you pretty much all you need to know about the place
