and of course the one she likes is 325 miles away. We are dropping off a vehicle in Bolton, are you from Bolton? So the extra trip to Derby is no major drama, we hope. Overnighting in The Palace Hotel, Buxton where bed, dinner, wine and breakfast is a reasonable £99.  Talk about living the dream!?

Should also be a decent run for the V8 L322 econowagen which remains fault free, touch wood.  AA cover and breakdown repair insurance on standby!

More on this story in the morn. Sleep well peeps. Hawkeye.

Last time stayed in the Palace hotel was 2008 for a training course at the Health and Safety Executive at Harper Hill, and it was well past it's best.  Nothing particularly wrong, but an air of decay. Like the rest of the Town.  Good luck. Chod Speed. Etc.

I don't live there but I work near Derby. If you find yourselves needing tools or help, I'd be happy to do what I can

Half an hour away from  the shitter viewing, small Japanese thing of the soft top variety. Perfect for a 350 mile drive home during a January gale. Can you tell what it is yet?

It's actually a Jimny. This one. Surprisingly grot free and pretty decent original nick. Has the death wobble issue, dont they all, but was cheap enough to leave room for lower suspension bushes etc. Its not for me but the wife wanted one so I just do what I'm told  😉

As if, hand built in England M8. RR covered near enough 700 miles since Saturday morning and has yet again been faultless. 🖖

Wee Jocky the Jimny also returned mid 40s MPG on the road hame and that's with the EML illuminated, nowt wrong with that wee motor. I had it north of 70mph at one point, but is happiest at around the NSL. Just need to figure out and sort the death wobble issue. Had a full engine service including HT plugs back in September last year, only done about 300 miles since then, until today!

Regards the RR. It's true what they say that 2006- L322s really are a lot better, thanks again Ford Mo Co. 👴

I was just looking back at the Suzuki clocks. It ticks over at 400rpm? WTF? Some form of (small block) petrol engine witchcraft. Who needs a twincam motor!? 🖕 I hope they all do that, sir. EML post refuel is probably toy thrown out of pram as being dragged away from the mild southernwardshires, to the cold wind raven shores of bonnie Scotchlandshire and it was Morrison's E10, how bloody dare they? #Gits, take this! EML "engaged".

Changed the coolant and power steering fluid yesterday, both were skank. Has ordered up x4 Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport 2 tyres, at £72 each. Once they arrive it's going to trusted local indy to have them fitted and hopefully he can find the cause of the wheel wobble. First thing to rule out is wheels and tyres!

Warm idle confirmed as 825rpm with OB2 scanner, tachometer is under reading.

The other thing about the cabriolet version is that they were made in Spain, not Japan.

Also this car has the older c.1995 SOHC G13BB engine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_G_engine The updated motor, the M13A was never carried over to Santana built cars. Good thing bad thing, dunno. Differences are mininal really. Bit of a project? Yes, but will be a fun summer & winter car. I can also confirm it does fantastic handbrake turns. 👌

EML turned off with battery disconnect. Will see if it reoccurs/develops further...

Update.

Scott at Glenfarg garage fitted the Cooper AT tyres, checked wheels and balanced, then fitted supplied new kingpin bearings and swivel seals both front sides and the wheel wobble is gone, John.  :tekst-toppie:

While it was there we asked he change front and rear diff oil and gearbox oil. He confirmed it's really good and solid underneath just needs undersealing, another job for Lanoguard.
