Just wondering by sum slim chance has anybody got a genuine drivers side front wing for my MK1 1987 fiat uno 60s made between 1983 - 89 as fiat no longer offer one and im not kean on using a pattern part. Prefer new but happly have a rustfree secondhand one. Does anybody have or know where i can get one ? Oh and if you have or know of a decent rear passanger door too [mine is a 5dr] that would be great ! And while im at it if you have any other random bits an pieces for a mk1 uno that you don't want let me know. Thanks. :)

I bet there's a 20k mile, always garaged, one [now] elderly owner type scrappage scheme victim lurking somewhere. Not in the yard near me though. Good luck!

Nice pics of the Elegenza :) always wanted one of them as it has a nice spec and they did some great met paint colours on them too that wasn't avalible on the standard cars. Haven't seen one on the road for along time. Here some pictures of my uno as it looks at the moment. Clutch cable snapped this morning while my brother was on his way to work ! Bit miffed because i only replaced it about 4/5 months ago. Towed it back to my friends unit tonight with my cavalier so hopefully get it fixed tomorrow afternoon after work. Give me chance to change the oil + filter as well and hopefully fix some other odds and ends.

Looks very clean! 8) Nice to see some appreciation for these. Have to admit I didn't much like them when they were common, but that's happened to me with a few cars that you don't see much of anymore...

Regie did you have to quote the photos? I can see the originals just up there!Looks a lovely Uno, like the Tipo it's a car which became extinct almost overnight.

i ahte my Tipo, was nothing like the Uno, abit to lardy..Burnside, clean little beasty that chap, and as said defo a rarer site on the roads these days :D

Had an Uno in the early 90s. A 70SL - 1300cc. Very nippy.

Unfortunate thing was it rusted before my eyes.

Didn't start out with the cross spokes on - I obtained those from a crashed victim.

Well hennabm nice to see a pic of your old uno, those alloys really suit it and would of loved a 1300 for the extra go!!

But the 1116cc engine moves along pretty well, and was alot more nippy compared to the Grande Punto i drove the other week!

Cheers VWPowered & MrRegieRitmo, most people only want the Turbo ones now so it's nice to be different!

Although in fairness despite how it looks in the pics my Uno needs a bit of bodywork. But i have to remember it is 22 years old now, so has survived pretty well!

I have a new genuine back panel, passenger wing and drivers side door skin to go on when funds allow :D

Still need to get a passenger rear arch as that is virtually toast!! and repairs to the other doors!!

Here's a pic of when i first got it looking a bit more shite!

I love the look of the Mrk.1. I had a 60S as a first car, 5 door, massively practical, even a spacious boot. Very nippy 1116cc Lampredi designed engine. It didn't have a rev counter, but did have an economy gauge which if I recall correctly, had three sections; green, amber, and red - indicating when you've been really naughty! Even though the engine capacity is small compared with today's cars the light weight of the body was good for keeping up with traffic, handling was pretty secure too, you could tell if you were going too fast into a corner by gauging how much body roll there was. Clutch cables were a sore point, I think I replaced it twice in 25,000 miles. The second time it went, up to the last few gear changes I made, I felt the pedal go soft, with un-reassuringly click noise of one of the individual strands of the cable snapping, until I was left with none, and a pedal on the floor and retired to the side of the road. The AA man temporarily fixed it with a weedy cable, almost the same thickness of bicycle brake cable! But it did the job!Although at the time I wish I'd bought a Mrk.2 because it looked more modern, In retrospect the Mrk.1 is a better, cleaner looking car.Good luck with yours Burnside. It does look very tidy.

Cheers FiatPhil i try to do the car justice  it's funny with what you mentioned.I have exactly the same symptoms when my cable is on it's way out, ive got through two clutch cables in less than 12 mths now!!That said my dad used to have a Fiat Strada as a chid, and clutch cables were replaced a fair few times on that!Although ive learnt my lesson an carry a spare just in case, the usefull economy gauge is fun but i never keep it much in the green!Doubt there's any modern cars that have such a thing now, except for a bloody Toyota Prius no doubt! But the 1116 is a really nippy engine as you say, and ive shamed many modern hatchbacks much to there horror! The bodyroll is a good indicator of how fast im going round corner's, which is usually on the door handles!

Result ! After being messed about by unhelpfull fiat dealers i managed a 'win' with one. :D They did a dealer search for me cause i had the part number and found 2 dealers with a drivers side wing listed in stock. Gave me the numbers and tryed the first one and they did indeed have the wing in stock. So asked them how much? LIST PRICE £68+ VAT. But said he would sell it me for £45 INC. So said id have it then asked where they were. St helens. Or put it another way 85 miles each way from my house in the midlands. That was last saturday so this morning set out in my cavalier and picked it up. They seamed impresed that i went all that way for it especially as my uno isn't a turbo model. Im well happy that ive got this wing now. Would be great to find a rear passanger door too but think that ill have to get the one ive got repaired. An like ive said before if anyones got any bits for a mk1 uno or knows of any let me know it might be just what i need. Oh an this afternon after meeting my m8 for a few beers was passing through sutton coldfield and my brother spotted a uno mk1 3dr elegenza was well pleased to see another mk1 on the road. A good end to the day. 8)
