What I did want! update.

I think its just so different to both the 2cv (small engine that was thrashed, pedal to the metal all the time) and the berlingo van I drive day to day (full of cables and tools). I'm not used to just resting my foot on the pedal gently and having the car zoom off I suppose!

Another pic this was when it arrived, as you can see I'm wringing my hands and crossing my legs, it was that exciting: :D

Thats ok, Metro death to keep a brown Allegro on the road is perfectly acceptable in the world of shite motoring as far as I'm concerned!

Superb looking car though, do like! Square steering FTW!

My word! you and your friend are a pair of hotties! and the allegro just is just greatness!I wanna meet a woman with such great taste in stuff and loveliness! My Ex simply didn't understand..I think I live in the wrong country...... population density is too low here I reckonz.Best of luck with the 'leggro - do you still have a 2CV? Actually, was it you that found your 2CV tipped over one morning by the local 'talent'? - I recall that from when I was still a 2CV GB member..

The 2cv has gone now, I lost motivation for it. It was time for a change and I've wanted an Aggro for ages, all my other dream cars have got a bit expensive.

Thats a horrible thing to do. :evil:Is that graffitti on the back?

2CV abuse! Hang em. What did you do with the car then?

That was my bootlid art! ( a bit of a 2cving tradition). My boyfriend found it after his night shift (he's a policeman). He rang it in, they gave him a crime number then I had a huge temper tantrum and I made him insist the police come round (as there were big greasy hand prints all over the doors) and they helped us right it. The only damage was a 2cm dent in the gutter channel and a small scratch. It was the weekend after we'd moved in, so I was a bit upset really, but all the neighbours were really nice and very concerned for us.The 2cv has gone to a much better home, the new owner has plans for it!

Do hope you'll not be put off the forum by the desperate singles :wink: Great stuff that it made it home OK and might have converted another soul to the wonders of shite motoring :D

The allegro is very nice. Good buy. Love the 70's colour.Still have not done anything about selling my Rocco, as i am totally hopeless. Glad the 2CV went to a good home but am still thinking about buying one to do up soon.Funnily enough Allegro means 'Fast and brisk' in musical terms. I always thought that being ironic when they named it that, but from what you say apparently not.

It was a depiction of our life story!

The Allegro is great! I'm really impressed. Just keep it away from onshore breezes!Did I read correctly that it no longer has its original engine, but a Metro one?

It was changed when the auto box died, a replacement engine and box (manual) came out of an Allegro estate that had failed its MOT.
