Are the windows for tax reasons? I thought they were a visibility aid. It doesn't have a rear bench or any extras really.

Some used to stick a small window in and say it was for safety reasons.
Lacquer Peel Posted May 25, 2022 Author Posted May 25, 2022 The windows do help when pulling out of junctions compared with regular panel vans.
worldofceri Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Interesting* fact (that may be incorrect): The mk2 Renault 5 had two types of dashboard, but the more basic type (as fitted to this van) was never converted to rhd, so all UK Extras and base-spec R5s had a marginally posher dashboard than their continental counterparts. I think you are right but I didn't know about the base dash not being converted to RHD. Split_Pin and 320touring 2
Asimo Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Just this minute returned from a week in the south of France and I can confirm that Express and C15 vans are still a fundamental part of life down there. My favourite type of vehicle🙂 sdkrc, LightBulbFun, 500tops and 6 others 9
sdkrc Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Big fat pass for the littlest van that could. Some strong words from the MOT man though which I enjoyed "I tried to fail you on that steering rack but I couldn't" If you're in Glasgow I'd strongly recommend the Whiteinch MOT centre, very fair and old school Later I'm off to pick it up where I abandoned it. Lacquer Peel Posted August 23, 2022 Author Posted August 23, 2022 Yesss! Anyone travelling in/around France if they happen across a LHD Renault Express steering rack it would be helpful.
loserone Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Somehow I ended up with this. It's great. a steering rack is here, a wax stat on its way from Germany and it also needs a wheelbearing. And some rustproofing and the drums fettling. I love it. 500tops, LightBulbFun, Dyslexic Viking and 7 others 9 1
loserone Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Oh! If anyone was in France - or anywhere else - and came across a rear bench and the seatbelts, I'd love to have the ability to take the family in a push.
