Top purchase Mr H... my mate gets LPG in Stoke for something daft like 38p a litre.

Has he got a time machine? Its 61.9 round here  Hurst you are gonna enjoy the ridculously slow filling LPG experience and people going nuts because your waiting for the only pump normally placed near where the mouth breathers park to do there weekly shopping in Tesco express

I'm dreading having to actually fill it up with gas, I've watched a load of videos of people doing it on Youtube but I'm convinced when I actually go to do it there'll be loads of added mystery and I'll not be able to figure out exactly what to do.Plus none of those people have to pop the boot and start filling up the most conspicous car ever.

Don't worry Hirst, I did it wrong first time I tried and nearly lost my hand.

If ever there was something to worry about, it's losing a hand.Worry Hirst, worry NOW!It'd be cool to have a load of 70's-style flashing faux-computers in the boot so when you pop the lid to fill up, it looks like you're running some crazy flux capacitor jobbie.

It's only like when you try to fill a "clipper" lighter with gas from a can and it doesn't go in properly, but on a bigger scale. It'll be OK.

I'd be sure to leave the boot open to vent the fumes for a bit after filling mind!

Is the filler deffo in the boot?? im sure they have to be externally mounted in the E.U to be ok legally. Filling a car with LPG is a doddle. Its like fitting a bayonet cap bulb, just remember to hold down the fill button on the pump and dont just press it once and wait for it to fill. The first time I filled up with gas I was stood there for 5 minutes waiting it to fill up until the attendent came out and helped me out. After youve done it a couple of times it will all seem easy! You can get your fingers frozen by escaping gas at -900 degrees or something when you disconnect mind.

I filled up at 39.6PPL yesterday. Dont go to petrol stations, places like calorgas retailers and farms are very cheap. The likes of BP and Shell are total rip off merchants!

Yeah it's in the boot, no unsightly LPG filler-caps here.Might try to smuggle it onto the Eurotunnel for a laugh.

I had an in-boot LPG filler on my Fiat 130 and i barely blew up any petrol stations in almost 8000 miles (thats a shitload of LPG!!!!).

Nope, it's 60p plus a litre in petrol stations but there are a couple of places with a big tank at the back of a small yard and they both charge around 38p. Go in, fill up then pay in a little temporary office thing.

Blimey, I only pay 52p at our local Total garage on the A41. Only time I ever tried a camping type place was some motorhome dealership on the m6 who wanted about 90p a litre, so I've never tried one again...

Is the cheap stuff the equivalent of using red diesel?

No, its all above board. You can buy LPG for central heating for 25PPL odd, its this thats the equivalent of red diesel. It just shows how much the big petrol stations are taking the piss with LPG. I think they try to keep it just above half the price of petrol/diesel.Of course theres no difference between LPG for central heating or cars, unlike road and red diesel so unless you were caught in the act of filling up nobody would know. Youd have to find somewhere willing to sell you the stuff for road use though.

"Dunno why the gas bill is so high, dad. Probably with it being winter, I don't know."
