Get a proper and appreciating car (318iS), then kill it by neglect. GREAT WORK. These do not like improper fluid levels / concentrations.

Posted

OH this guy takes neglect to a whole new level, he got it as a low

mileage full history cracker and much to my disgust has wrecked it.

Lowlights include snapping the timing chain...no problem as I would just have rebuilt it, or if the damage was too bad put another motor in....oh no "I'm gonna put a six in it....innit...." that'll be that ruined then. In order to keep him on the road as he needs it for work etc, I managed to find a free M40 lump to bung in while I tried to persuade him to put it back to stock if an Is motor turned up. Fucking tit has since ripped out all of the interior in the name of weight saving, chiselled out the sunroof tray and welded the roof up. Three weeks ago he cracked the sump badly so I had to tig the crack back up, and I aint no tig welder...he is, but had a bad back. Then the other day decides to go out playing in the snow and wrecked the o/s wing and damaged the rear end. Staggering....as now the car is worthless.....Thing is just before the engine went west he forked out loads on Bilsteins all round, new bushes and brakes, and new tyres, albeit ditch finders but they do the job. Twat....

It smells like a landfill site inside as well.....heres a pic of how it did look....

and a pic of my old Tourer, I loved this car and would NEVER treat it like matey treats his.....

Fucking black day when she went....but I was working in a clay quarry and was sick of seeing it dirty.....

Hey youve got some proper good spots here, shame about that MKI granny. Its weird, Ive seen two belmonts recently, but no Astras of the same age. With their less than perfect record with crims, youd think itd be the other way round.

Trago Mills was alway full of shite both in the carpark and on the shelves.

Hey, nice spots! With regards to that 318IS, was it for sale recently? The reg plate looks familiar. It looks like one for sale in the last few months, or one that I went to look at to buy about 3 years ago.Cheers..

Re photo of GTE, where abouts is it located?'Trago Mills under protest' a man after my own heart.keep the pictures comming.

I should be picking my newly acquired 318is up next week, they were never imported in massive numbers suprisingly so they're becoming rare due to the antics of this monkey, I suspect he boasts of his skillz on trampdrift or somesuch. I've always been into the straight sixes but was impressed enough on test drive enough to put an offer in that was accepted, they seem to 'breathe' really freely compared to my 325i (a car that was ruined by the berk who last owned it)

I do like your old Touring though

Gompo....He's had it about three years so that would possibly make senseTim....The GTE is just outside Wells next to where they are doing all the building work on the business park, the only place I know nearby is Glastonbury Reclamation. Trago Mills...shit, and the cardboard cutout of a copper in the entrance telling you how many people have had a ride in a police car that month just encourages shop lifting..... :lol:Shite-meister....The 318is is a lovely motor and I would have one in a snip, the M42 motor is brilliant, Ive driven stockers and one that had been lightly tuned and they are lovely. I recently drove an "expertly" converted six a while back after the spiv who owned it boasted how good it was.....Jesus what is wrong with these people.....yeah it was quick but a 318is is quicker....heavy braking caused it to weave all over the road.....I throttled out of a corner a bit hard and it lifted the inside front wheel off the ground......it was set up all wrong and was shit...... Good luck with yours. A guy I know has one with 150 odd K ( red one in my pics) and it runs like a Swiss watch. Lovely.... :)Woop woop...I dunno what they are but they look shit on a Cortina....I saw that car again today it was parked at the fast fuck centre at...... Trago Mills...... :)

Jesus that cardboard copper has been there years, I remember that from the early nineties and still there a couple of years ago.

The 318IS I'm getting has 85k and owned by a mechanic who works for a BMW specialist so should be good. I've done some research on the M42, seems that BMW strangled the power so as not to get too close to the 2.5 and they used all fancy innards on them. Apparantly BMW stopped using the S14 M-engine in motorsport and came up with a 2.0 version of the M42 called the S42 as they could get more power and make it more reliable than the S14 lump. Deels a bit odd to be in a BMW that doesn't make straight-six noises to be honest.

Normal Autoshite service will be resumed....

Can't find a pic of the whole copper:

When you find out how to get XTRA POWA from an M42 do please let me know!!!!It is a truly lovely engine though even as stock. OK, a 2.5L M20 sounds fricking glorious but they are so obscenely thirsty that you never dare hear the noise. Plus the one I had was immersed in such a dog of a car that you would spend your life chasing the "issues"My current E36 is one of the very few M42-engined ones that emerged before the M44 came in (plus it's a dead early one at that, I have never seen another earlier one). I get in and within 200 yards of my house I am grinning like a twat and eager to get to the national limit zone so I can make it howl.

An update, I drove passed the blue Cortina today, I think the owner must have been reading the threads on here about the wheels, as he has now changed them to RS alloy type, I will try and get a photograph.

Managed to brave the carnage caused by the recent weather, took my boy out for a walk around the village, had a right laff when we saw some tit in a Seat something or other crash into the curb......he was on a flat bit of road approaching a bend going way too fast....it was the pointless wrestling with the wheel while the wheels were locked up that did it for me.....took out his n/s front wheel a treat, like a twat I forgot to take a pic.....so here are some of todays action to make amends......

Mini love.....

All the gear and no idea, this house has a five car garage behind the Cab....but matey who lives there has just filled it with junk, looks ok in the pics but there is trash and car bits everywhere, I knew the previous owner who was ok and used to give me cars for racing, scrap etc.

Spit, E30, Escort never move ....ever

Posted Image

Walking home I saw a load of hoodlums doing something with two Hi-lux Surfs, there was a lot of hammering and looking thick going on.....matey was lying under this one with a wheel removed....check out the tiny little jack, he got out before I could take the pic....this one has been at the end of our road for months with a puddle of oil under it.....joy....

I've seen a young girl lately a few times driving around here in a Mk 1 Fiesta the same as this, I can never get a photo of it when i see her though.

What price is this one?, It would make a perfect first car from Brammy.

Posted

Beat me to it Trigger;)Yeh if that was well priced Id happily have it!

Posted

I should be down that way later, I'll ring him and get a price and if hes there I can have a good poke around it. :)

Posted

Brammy,Trigger, Ive just spoken to the guy with the Fez, its a 950 and its MOTd and taxed until May, it has four new tyres and has never been welded. I had a look around it and the only (little ) fault I could find was a little scab on the left hand side of the valance and a tiny scab near the light. And some scrote has snapped the ariel off. It is very very tidy......£800 dead, thats what it owes him. WANT WANT WANT :)

Hey that Escort van looks like a half hearted attempt to make it look sporty! I saw one the other month which had everything bolted on it. That Bus recovery truck is a Scania right? Looks extremely new compared to what we have round here, a nigh on 30 year old DAF.
