Loving the P100s! I have to try a pick-up oneday....What's the space like in them for a tall-ish person?

Great photos, those early ones reminded me of when I was a nipper and watched my neighbour mess around with a Capri in similar style to the Cortina.

Those cortinas are so nice, I envy you. It also rekindles memories for me, I remember seeing things like that in the mid nineties.Ah its not my old shite but I seriously want my Dads last car back, I promised myself I will get it back one day...........N53 BSN, still on the road (for now).

Wow, THAT'S an impressive history!! Did the chopped Mk 2 Cortina ever get finished? Need to see some pics if it did. Also, I'm sure the chopped Mk1 Consul in the background looks vaguely familiar- was it ever a magazine featured car?

The Mk2 got to the stage of being painted and had the interior fitted, but never got its screeen fitted...got sold and that was the end of itthe Mk1 Consul was a show car that had got a bit rough by the time we got it, fitted an Essex into it and it to eventually went to the bin

My first car , £ 60 , kept for 7 years , taken black rock samds circa 82

That's a shame. I thought I recognised that Consul. Sad thing is, it kinda proves all those who said that customising old cars is less likely to result in a long term preservation than restoration right.

Do you know if any of these cars are still around? And any you regret getting rid of?Im just interested :)

Only the purple Cortina GLS estate is alive in any form, in a kit form in my shed, everything but the floor pan and bulk head.....the rest are long gonethe red Cortina in the first pic got stolen and burnedthe mk1 got crashed and strippedthe red estate got sold then scrappedthe blue mk4 likewiseetc, etc55B.. the problem with custom motors is taste...folk buy it and think its cool, keep it a while then realise they have to work at it....so sell them on and sadley as they go down the food chain folk care less and less...however one of my all time favourites is still alive and has been restored by one of my matesFungus the Baldy Van 8)8) sadly it too has now been sold again and deteriorating... I will own this vehicle at some stage and keep it alive as long as I am 8)8)

I should also point out they were sold back in the day when there were loads of Custom motors and idiots that thought they could run them...excluding me

Don't appear to have many pictures of my old stuff in digital form - so until I get around to scanning stuff heres the three I have -

I've owned some right dull rubbish, here are some 'highlights'

Posted Image

First car

Posted Image

Rover 218D, for winners

Posted Image

Rover 825D, gr8 4 rotten radiators

Posted Image

The first of my 2 Justys, they are ace little things.

Posted Image

Rover 623, it was a really nice thing to drive but at the time unleaded was at 1.30p a litre and nobody wanted to buy it - sadly scrapped

Posted Image

SCAAAB 900, I really liked it, but the fuel consumption was unsustainable while I was doing 2000 miles a month.

Posted Image

Replaced with this thing, a 405 "STYLE" TD

Posted Image

This Scrapio replaced it, it was a bit of a shed but ran happily on all kinds of fuel and is still the comfiest car I've driven

Posted Image

Primera 2.0D. Slow

Posted Image

Replaced with a Peugeot 405 TD again, bit quicker once the slipping clutch was sorted out

Posted Image

I got this as a second car for a while, lovely soundtrack but it actually drove worse than the 405 as far as ride, handling and steering goes

I sold it to chap in Jersey or Gurnsey (can't remember which) and later got a phone call from a woman in Lancashire who'd bought it from a dealer, IIRC... DVLA have no record of the number... :?

Hey Mattblack you have had some proper old shite, That Lada is epic!

I've had loads of cars which I'm sure I've posted on here before but here are some highlights.

My First car back in 1997, Nova 1.2 Swing in Brown.

Posted Image

Sold that to buy this Escort 1.3 Eclipse that i colour coloured myself, it was a right fanny magnet at the time.

Posted Image

After that i had a Fiesta 1.3 Ghia which sold to buy this heap of shit.

Posted Image

Sold that to buy this Escort Si which i wrote of after a women in a Renault 21 Savanna pulled out in front of me.

Posted Image

Unbelievably after it sat in a yard for a year a Rastafarian from London came down to buy it and drove it back at night with no lights, brakes or tax or mot!

So whilst the Escort was of the road and i waited for the insurance company to pay out i had to runabout in shite so had this Mk 2 Fiesta 1.1L which had only 54k on it a years ticket and only cost £150, It was great until some chav drove into the back of it whist racing his mate.

Posted Image

So with that gone i moved onto this Sierra 1.6GL, It only cost £100 with a years ticket and was a great car, I really enjoyed driving it in fact.

Posted Image

And after that i bought another Mk 6 Escort and almost my cars after that were either moderns or i have no photos of them.
