55bloke Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Shite is still in short supply round here, so not posted any pics in ages, but here are a few from the last few months- mostly taken whilst elsewhere! We were surprised to find this beauty in Rother Valley car park. Nice to see one actually being used for every day transport!Last month we had a long weekend in Bristol, which seems to have a lot more stuff around than South Yorks. It was the weekend of the heavy storms, so camera wasn't in use for much of Saturday, so missed all sorts- most annoyingly, a scruffy looking ZB Magnette just parked at the roadside. Got these though:-Nice VeedubCamper shiteObviously not shite, but couldn't resist a Bristol in Bristol! This the spot of the year for me!A couple of shots of the 25 in shite company! And finally, since everyone is posting their snow pics, here's the view which greeted me this morning. We seem to have escaped the worst of it this time.
brammy777 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Some nice spots there, i actually really like that shot of the Bristol!
Split_Pin Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Nice spots, I like the snow-covered pic of your 25
Cheggers Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I'm struggling to think of a more unlikely car to have a pink flower on the bonnet than a black Saab 900 Did it have the obligatory "Powered by fairy dust" in the back window??
55bloke Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 I'm struggling to think of a more unlikely car to have a pink flower on the bonnet than a black Saab 900 Did it have the obligatory "Powered by fairy dust" in the back window?? Didn't look to be honest, as it was absolutely PISSING down!!Anyway, here's anohter selection- finally got round to putting 'phone pics onto the computer!First up, nice looking 1100/1300 seen in one of the Supertram park and ride places.Next up, Veedub bus on very low suspensionAuntie Rover parked outside a garage workshop. Looked original and unmolested, nicely faded and cracked leather interior.Stunning Beemer outside Halfords.Unusual, but rather tasty Saab, photographed by 52 Babe in Sainsbury's car park! Finally, nice Mk 1 Fiesta seen on Boxing Day, in Sainsbury's car park. Could it be some lucky sod's Christmas pressie?
VWPowered Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 ruddy nice that, as well as that two-tone saab, nice spots
55bloke Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 More snow here overnight, so nipped out with the camera, and happened across the following:Odd Beetle in a pub carparkI've passed this spot countless times in the last few years, yet never seen this before!! Hidden by foliage most of the time, I guess!and had to include a shot of my 25!!
55bloke Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 Just nipped out to the local shop, and spotted this in the car park. I've seen it around a few times, but never whilst I had the camera. Grabbed the mobile 'phone just in time to grab a pic before it was driven off. It's an E reg and appears to be an absolute minter.
Electric Leyland Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I've passed this spot countless times in the last few years, yet never seen this before!! Hidden by foliage most of the time, I guess! Just came across this whilst hunting it's plate down on the DVLA (and failing) - Morris 214EYT doesn't come up, nor does Austin, Riley, MG, Wolseley or Vanden Plas, have I missed one out? Anyway, this, from 2004.... http://www.ado16.info/spotted.php Since then, I have been chatting with a local who informed me that the vehicle used to belong to young gentleman who lived in a caravan near to where the car was parked. There was always a dispute between Chesterfield Borough Council and Sheffield, to which council the field belonged, and whether he should be made to pay council tax or not. The gentleman was having an affair with someone he played with Tennis with, and one day in 1986 he left. A few weeks later the caravan was taken, but the car wasn't. It stayed exactly where he'd parked it.
55bloke Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 So, someone beat me to it! Oh well, never mind. Curious that the reg number doesn't come up though.
VWPowered Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 poor thing could of been the the last 20 odd years
Captain Mainwaring Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Doesn't look to be much hope for it seeing a road again...
55bloke Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Had to take the Renner to a local Renault specialist (digital dash went all dark!! EEK! Fortunately, seems to have been a fairly easy fix, for someone who knows what they're doing!) Getting there took me on some roads I don't usually use, so took camera in case any worthwhile spots showed themselves. Glad I did.First, an Audi coupe lurking in a front garden. Any way of telling if it's a quatro? Not very good with these.Next up, nice little Renault 9 Boston. First spotted this about 5 years ago- good to see it still in use, and at the same address. Then this gem, hidden away outside a unit on an industrial estate. Photographed at long range, so excuse the quality.
55bloke Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Oh, and should add that the garage had an absolutely mint Renault 12 inside. Tried talking to the owner, but he was not in the least interested and seemed a thoroughly humourless, dour individual, so didn't even bother asking if he'd mind me taking a few pics.
Pillock Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 First up, nice looking 1100/1300 seen in one of the Supertram park and ride places. AAAAARGH! Sorry, nice car but a photo taken in front of my old workplace. Gives me the shivers, it does.
55bloke Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 Right, here we are again with a few more sightings:-This has recently appeared in a local driveway:A rather more tragic local VW: Then again, who am I to judge- whatever floats your boat, right? Amazing how small it is compared to the moderns around it.Wouldn't normally bother with Mk 3 Astras, but this one seems worthy!Early Safrane. Almost as rare as the 25 it replaced these days.Escort Eclipse seen in B & Q carpark.A daily driver Capri with what must surely be illegal number plates?Recently noticed this little beauty lurking in someone's front yard:
michiel Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I've got an inexplicable craving for cheese & crackers...
trigger Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I had an Escort Eclipse about 10 years ago the colour as the one above, I did love that car.I also keep seeing a Safrane in a car park up the road to me, Think it's a R reg, Maybe i should a photo of it.
55bloke Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Very little un-spotted shite in evidence around here, but I dropped the 25 off at a local(ish) garage this morning for some front suspension bushes changing, and there was a lovely old Merc in the yard, so thought I may as well take a quick snap with my ancient Nokia! And, whilst I'm at it, I may as well post a few pics of a Toyota pick up spotted a few weeks ago which really should have high comedic value, yet I find it strangely appealing!
55bloke Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 Just a few pics from the last couple of weeks:Spotted this TR7 outside the local Halfords. Not seen one on the road for YEARS!Lovely Imp seen in shopping centre car park.Rough Fiesta in a back street.Another infrequently seen old Ford- a quite tidy looking OrionRenault van- not really shite, if it weren't for it's dog-rough condition!Decidedly NOT shite! I know these old buses fetch insane money for what they are, but I really do love them, especially as well restored as this beauty, also spotted in a local shopping centre car park.
barrett Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 That yellow Orion is ORSUM! I agree, and I hate the things usually
55bloke Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 A few more:Spotted TWO of Leyland's finest in recent weeks!!This is a frequent visitor to the local Sainsburyswhilst this was exiting a garden centre just as we passedThis is a local resident, and seems to be absolutely mint!Showing this to compare with the older one above. Probably better, but simply not as cool!Stunningly perfect Jag in our localand a multiple spot at a used car dealer near The Arena.
pogweasel Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 895 seems to be unfeasably cheap for that Nissan, are they not capable of extreme speed even in standard form?? OK, so the image is a bit dodgy, but bangs-for-your-buck gotta be a good deal...
55bloke Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 I thought that, but maybe it's done inter-stellar milage and is a hair's breadth from the scrappy?!
55bloke Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 I know most of you on here aren't into modified cars, so I haven't bothered posting any pics from The Igntion Extreme Show last weekend, but there were a few cars that MAY be appreciated on here:Especially this beauty. Hope it's not destined for anything too radical.Nice NovaEarly Golf looked surprisingly good on slot mags - though you can't really see them in this pic! Any guesses about the inspiration for the colour scheme?Have to admit, I kinda like it!Orion, anyone?Cabrio?
