Austin 1100 GOLDMINE! update

Some of you may remember this..spotted about 6 months ago..i left a note with the Maori lady who worked in the beer store nxt door to it..she passed it on to the owner..

 

and nobody noticed thats actually a Forward Control Land Rover roof on it..

 

the very nice bloke rang me today..

 

story goes...the chap turns these into super chopped down cabrio coupes..this is surplus to his requirements..all it needs is a oil pump and i may need to attend to some panel work...but not only can i have this..hes got a Countryman 3dr Estate i can have..needs a new wing and its covered in religious slogans from 25yrs ago...im off to see the whole workshop and cars next week..armed with cash..

 

I can have this for $1000..1974 Austin 1100 Deluxe[i thinks so!].NZ assembled..one of the last..Barney Purple.

And the same folk have another Countryman for sale!

I agree. Don't recognise it as any Land Rover roof, FC or not. Also, very strange it being made from steel sheet, rather than birmabright or similar! Looks a home-made jobbie I think.Nice ADO16s though! Odd colour for one that purple - never seen one that colour!

I went back to Marton to investigate the warehouse that contains the 1100 Traveller...6000sq ft filled with glorious junk...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He's renting the old central Post Office...so he has a few cars over there...he now wants to sell off most of it off..and we ve been offered the lease on the Post Office when he goes..

 

 

PO has lots of inside postage stamp parking..

Building is huge..massive backyard..and we may get it for 30squid a week!

Idea is: we help him offload all his tat..the Traveller [Holy Roller] has had a major left side wing whack..but hes got all parts to fix it..and the Catholic graffiti on it is ART!..plus the the town is cool...tonnes of empty warehouses...central to all other towns...
