As i drove past the pikey settlement behind Perkins this morning at 8am, there was a small child cheerfully torching a W-reg Accord in the adjoining field.

Gawd they've been busy. A Mk3 Astra and Corsa B when I went passed earlier in the week. Glad I'm getting out of the City Centre with work...

Bastards aren't they? I remember when I used to do a bit of work around Wrexham and there was an illegal camp at the back of the hospital. Every sodding time I drove near the camp there was a bridge over a small river and there was always a few cars in it burnt out/crashed/dumped.I fugging hate car thieves full stop, no matter what 'background' they come from and always hope the tossers get a car of their own one day and someone retruns the favour.

They managed to make their mark on a car park on Oil Sites Road in Ellesmere Port that had been bouldered up on the entrance. The stinking, thieving twats went over a 19th century canal bridge designed for pedestrians, not 20 stolen Mitsubishi Warriors (fucking it up in the process) and camped their inbred arses up there. They now have an established park next door as they obviously complained in their food encrusted vests to some counciller and she collapsed on human rights or something. I always see feral children roaming that main road now. It's strange about car thieves. They could take the car away, carry a rag with some rubbing alcohol and be careful with fingerprints, wiping the most obvious ones away, and then park the car up (locking it afterwards). There's no need to burn it out, while parking it halfway into someone else's premises.

The woods behind me have had an old-shape Rover 200, and more recently a Range Rover complete with LPG kit torched. In the RR's case it was when the thieving morons couldn't drive a 4x4 offroad and got it stuck in a ditch...

A few days later I noticed someone had stolen the LPG kit from it after it had been burned out!

It did make a nice photo though as I was out walking the dogs.

I ran a car hire company in Chester a few years ago and the Pikeys 'moved in' to an abandoned warehouse next door for a couple of months each year.'Our' compound had 10 ft high walls around it, we parked all the Transits in such a way that you'd have to be a fuckin' Tetris champion to work out how to get any of 'em out (or even get in to half of 'em). Cameras all over the place, recording 24-7. Immobilised 7.5 ton trucks blocking all the exits.Left work midday Saturday, returned on Monday morning to find zero fuel in everything and the tipper bodies removed from the Transits, along with bonnets, headlights, indicators, PAS racks, PAS pumps, window motors, radios, mirrors, seats. The lot. Gone.Checked the CCTV and the most you could see was the occasional bobble hat coming into view - nothing you could use for ID - and the Transit beds being taken over the wall by HIAB.Astonishing bit of work by the Pikeys, nightmare for us.They left a few weeks later. Wrecked the building next door and left a couple of burnt out SWB Pajeros outside.

I heard from the lads at the concrete/cement place next door about what the vile bastards had been doing in their works.Seemingly they came in to find excrement all over the place.Time to move in on illegal camps I reckon and take the most expensive caravan they have away. Once they've cleared off and left the site better than they found it they get it back, otherwise it gets auctioned off to pay towards the cost of cleaning up after them.

I agree with that. I'm sure some of them are decent but far too many aren't. If you don't want to be part of society then f*ck off, find a cave and leave everything else behind!

Stoke must be some kind of gippo drop in centre or something, judging by the number of pikey camps that pop up round here. They cause huge amounts of damage, commit huge amounts of crime and leave their "camp sites" with thousands of pounds worth of cleaning up to do, like the City of Stoke on Trent can afford to clean up after them. The thing is, under current laws theres not alot that can be done about them. Not alot to do with shite, but I thought id get that off my chest. Being a taxpayer and all that. That said, I did have a seized allegro engine and box on my drive a while ago. One day found a hand scribbled note in the carb with a number to ring politely asking me if that if I didnt want the engine theyd take it away for me. I thought it was nice of them, seeing as they often just drag stuff away when nobodys looking.

Theres a huge pikey village behind the steel works in cardiff. Im told local police wont even go on the site. There pretty much free to do whatever they like. I cant stand them, paracites.

I have to be honest here and say I used to think like that but experience tells me different.

I'd like to say it's not the case the vast majority are bad but I'm afraid they are. I actually loosely know one or two and they're as bad as they're painted if not worse.

Chatted to a handful of 'proper' gypsies (aka horse and caravan) who were really nice, peaceful, tidy genuine people but how many of them do you see?

This country has become too f*ck*ing soft on this kind of thing. Way way too soft. I'm well at home with the "tribal" thing as my missus hails from a tribe (equivalent to Red Indians in USA for instance) and I have lived on the flip side of the "bloody immigrants" thing, and I have genuinely seen enough of this planet and its variety of people now to justify myself. Romany Gypsies with cute caravans and pegs that'll outlast the user are NOT to be confused with Pikeys. Gypsies tend to lead a hard but rugged life conforming to various customs that make life hard for them wherever they have been. People like that tend to treasure what they have, or at least would not waste a useful asset, no matter how it was gained. They would not have subscribed to burning a very useful Wagon, although they may have had a wheel away or two off someone elses, in my understanding, a crock of chutney and bag of lavender may be left by the axle stub; and another the next year when they passed by again.Look, if there is genuinely NOTHING a local governance can do about a style of living that threatens other peaceful law abiding people; and when the bulk of applicable case law is applied to the situation of an instance of trespass, or arson and theft, or defecating in someone's workshop, or benefitting from services that serve those who have and continue to contribute in some way towards the availability of that service; WE STILL HAVE NO CASE AGAINST IT, then we have already given up. Might as well join them.We had stubbly grubby blokes around our village a few weeks ago knocking on all the doors and in tick oirish accents claiming to represent the local newspaper to garner information from us as to when we had booked holidays and therefore give over dates when the paper shouldn't be delivered. And when the best time would be to help themselves to our oil and worldy possessions. The old girl up the road had them in for tea and stories, I told them their ID's were fake and shut the door and my farmer neighbour, who has pretty strong views about this informed them that if he saw them around here again he'd cause a "rum dew boi shoot'n yer f'ken'orses". He would too.

I sold a Transit to some Gyppos. They turned up mob handed to buy it, which was worrying. But they bought it for (real) cash and even sorted out insurance on it before driving off.Totally different breed from the bunch who stripped our vans.
