Guest Tony Hayers Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Cant explain why, but I was browsing previous edits of various Wikipedia entries when I came across one of Mike Brewer's (cant direct link to the edit, so copy and paste) http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... _presenter)&oldid=285851347 That would explain it then
dollywobbler Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 http://snipurl.com/taqck Does that work? EDIT - yes it does.
Guest Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 The fact that there's an article on Mike Brewer proves that they have a sense of humour of some sort.
fordpoplier Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Odd episodes of Wheeler Dealers have started showing up on TV over here so I have finally been able to watch this Brewer phenomenon for myself. I'd pegged his accent as fake sarf london with a bit of street market trader thrown in but I see now from his website that its all real. Terrible but compulsive viewing.
barrett Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 he was born in Surrey! I knew it was all a big fraud!
reallyloud Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 You also get a temporary ban should the wikipedia mods read something that seems to stray from the truth, particularly if it is funny. I added some comment about a well built female popstar looking and sounding like a well fed dog. Jason Dawes next me thinks....
Pillock Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I've edited the Brian Adams one loads of times and ended up getting our entire company network - 12,000 or so computers - banned from editing Wikipedia
shite_meister Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Ha ha ha thats brilliant! During the early 1990's Mike experienced exceptional weight gain, allegedy as a result of a cocaine and cheeseburger addiction. This was further reinforced by Mike's bloated body and generally more rotund appearance. This is clearly evident on early episodes of the now infamous show Deals on Wheels. Rumours within high level media circles are that this is to be the subject of the forthcoming unofficial biography "Brewer: The Cocaine Years" published by Penguin Books. A film adaptation is expected to follow, with Eamon Holmes widely tipped to play the lead role and Daniel Mettham confirmed as Edd China, Mike's trusty sidekick.
chester drawers Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I've edited the Brian Adams one loads of times and ended up getting our entire company network - 12,000 or so computers - banned from editing Wikipedia Hmmm. This seems like a good game to play at lunch time. David Gray, Sting, Mariah Carey; there are just so many deserving “musical†causes. How close an eye do you suppose is kept on the Simon Cowell page?

I think Bono's page may be well overdue for some creative editing...........
Milford Cubicle Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bono "This page is semi-protected to prevent libelous actions." I imagine it's the same for most high-profile pages.
Richard Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 It's locked until the 23rd January next year due to excessive vandalism. They tend to lock a page when it gets a spate of creative edits, as Bono's page must, or when somebody has just died. All Wikipedia edits can be viewed via the History tab at the top. It can make amusing reading sometimes but you have to wade through edits where a bracket has been added or a spelling mistake has been rectified. This is one of many edits for my old school's page. http://tinyurl.com/yhdlgog

I imagine it's the same for most high-profile pages.Well what I was going to add to his page was fact, & therefore surely not libelous. I was merely going to mention his tax 'arrangements', & that to some it could appear strange that a man who pays no tax has the gall to consistantly preach at people to put their hands in their pockets to support whatever charity he fancies banging on about this month. I hate this man. I can't even find the words to say how much.
Timewaster Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Q. Whats the difference between GOD and BONO?A. GOD doesn't walk down the street thinking he is BONO!Thanks to Mr. J. Carr
