People, I need some assistance here.I'm trying to the add to the number of car shows / events that we are attending in a model-selling-business capacity. Trouble is, I'm stuck and can't think of much. Some of these shows are probably not what people here might go to but I just need ideas of what is about next year as I'm having a mental block. So far, we are attending the following -Ultimate Dubs, Retro Mania, GTi International, All Types VW Show, VBOA National Rally and RR Gathering plus a couple of others I'm currently investigating. So, what shows are worth attending (needs to be reasonably big and I'm not that keen on stuff like Tatton Park Classic Car Show, prefer marque specific stuff). Thanks :D

Vauxhall show at Billing springs to mind, and there's a show being planned for the Metro's 30th anniversary.

There is the Southport Traction Engine Show about June time - lots of old cars and old lorrys there as well as traction engines and a steam powered fairground. There are lots of stalls some local produice and some minor aoutojumbley stuff as well as your general "tat" stalls ( balloons, cheapo toys and what not) Is always packed if the weather is good as it doesnt cost a fortune to get in and the parking is free.Hoghton Tower Classic Car Show (September) Which again is well attended and has a bigish number of autojumble stalls down the bottom end of the field - its a one day event whereas Southport is a 2 dayer.Any good to you - both in the N/W.

Some good suggestion so far, thanks! Already doing Vauxhall event at Billing, Brooklands looks interesting - will investigate further. Hoghton Tower is a possibility as well. Only problem is that it normally falls at about the time I've been on holiday in the last couple of years.More suggestionz plz :D

Ford Fair at Silverstone in August

I'm thinking about that. Trouble is, scene tax seems to extend to what they charge traders as well

Ooh, you know any more about the Metro thing? I'm guessing it will be in Birmingham?

Metro Anniversary meet is in planning/argumenting/bitching about at the moment, could be at Coventry MM on the 2nd Sunday in October. I'll keep you posted.

More info at the Metro club website, but you may need to register to see some of it, and actually join the club to see the rest!

H'mm, why couldn't the ASOC forum be like that? Oops, sorry, forgot, that would take open-mindedness and could mean that the club could expand, and they wouldn't want that to spoil their little closed shop. :x:x:x:x:x
