comfortablynumb Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Never thought about hiding good speakers with crap old covers. Great idea, I lost my 1600E from a carpark years ago because it had a decent radio and GOODMAN in massive letters across the top of the speakers! They went round the carpark nicking other people's radios (including a mates from his car) and then stole mine to go home in. Got it back, but it was trashed 😞 Rustybullethole 1

Must get round to that someday. comfortablynumb 1
JMotor Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I absolutely love this Manta. Decided to give VBOA a miss this year. Again missed a car I wanted to see when I didn't go! How was the new site? Heard only good things about the new venue so far.

Snake Charmer Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I may have said this before, my first Manta was the same colour as your passenger door registerd October 1976, l only had it 4-6 weeks. Wish l had photos as it's demise was quite spectacular at the hands of a drunk driver in a 520i BMW. He hit the rear so hard the back lights were against the fuel tank under the rear screen. The impact shifted the car forward 20ft from a standstill with the rear wheels locked as the arches folded into the tyres. sutty2006 1
Semi-C Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Just caught up with this, I have two things to say: Apologies for spamming you with multiple likes at once & bravo for a supremely executed resurrection. Move over Gail Tuesday, there's a new stunner in town! sutty2006 1
Shortos Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I just saw this on FB, recieving a lot of love due to its authentic looks. Didn’t realise it was one of “our” cars. Awesome read and great car. Brings back memories of my dad, so thank you just for that!! ❤️ sutty2006 1
sutty2006 Posted August 15 Author Posted August 15 Thanks for the kind thoughts folks. 😎 been doing a couple of local meets since the VBOA. Cannock chase club meet Endon pub meet scholar green club meet right now, it’s up on axle stands with a leaking diff pinion seal. Hoping to get one asap. Lonestar, MAF260, IronStar and 15 others 18
sutty2006 Posted September 21 Author Posted September 21 Had a few spare hours to kill so set off and had a go repairing this arch. DISCLAIMER : Folks keep saying “why didn’t you use a longer piece of steel?” Because that’s the longest piece I had spare!!!!! I don’t think I did too bad? And while I’m here, I’ll tidy this piece up that was left years ago then went to town with some left over paint. Joey spud, catsinthewelder, Snipes and 22 others 25
comfortablynumb Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Bit late now, but I always keep the better bits of stuff I've cut out, replaced panels etc, always handy for steel, and with it being expensive now saves quite a lot of money. Not that there's anything wrong with patch repairs, far from it 👍
Andyrew Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Sometimes just have to do the best with what you've got. Looks great and some very tidy work sutty2006 1
