Am I the assh*le in this situation? More than happy to be told I’ve got the car selling etiquette wrong. a Focus is up for sale on eBay for £800 with a Buy It Now button and Make an Offer button. I message and offer £750 to pick up tomorrow or Sunday. The seller replies he has someone viewing it (only viewing) on Monday so is unwilling to consider my offer until after that. I message back saying I’ll pay the full price so as not to lose the car over a mere £50. The seller replies No. I’ve not replied yet as im not sure if he’s being a moron or I’m being pushy. What say you?

Lots of issues with that number plate. Stuck over another.. Numbers and letters aren’t even and the 8 is upside down, and I think the 9 is an upside down 6.. though I’m not a number plate font designer 😂

Yep.. lights need to be in the ON position for full beam.. OFF position for Flash full beam. Swedish thing.

Are your full beams staying on? Rather than just doing a little flash?

This was my most recent V70 ph2 .. Volvos are just uncomplicated in terms of image and style. Useful, well made cars. I have a great interest in Scandinavia and Norse history and mythology which I imagine helps too Sadly that one was scrapped by the next owner after he drove it through deep water..

I’m hoping the pics are on here.. just a small flavour of some of the Volvos I’ve had.. the pick up was a drunken eBay purchase which i sold on almost immediately. It was very cool but awfully executed and near impossible to insure properly. Metro was my first car 😂

After being treated to coffee and shortbread by @Six-cylinderand his wonderful wife, and a side issue of buying a car from him, I was encouraged to introduce myself. Matt from Essex, 45yo and have been driving my entire adult life. Owned many cars but only really been “autoshiting” for about 10. Firstly it was out of necessity, newly married with a new house, plus having dogs and horses meant every car we used was filthy within days and driven up and down scratchy country lanes and farmyards. If I can, I tend to stick to Volvos, Estates if I can, 90s cars if I can. I’ve owned “most” Volvos from the late 80s-mid 00s and certain models I’ve had several of. T5s were my favourite before they became silly money and now I tend to have D5s for MPG. Having said that, I’ve owned all sorts as well as Volvos, French, German, Italian, Far Eastern. If it’s cheap I’ll consider it. I’m a amateur spanner monkey, will give most DIY jobs a go with varying levels of success. Like most on here I think, I love buying cars but hate selling them, so much hassle. Currently the fleet is very thin as we’ve just bought a house so my wife drives a 55 plate 320cd bought for £270 and I drive the Peugeot 306 cabriolet bought from @Six-cylinder .. it’s a lovely little car that saved me from a nightmare, but it can’t fit many bales of hay in! So I’m looking for a larger partner for it .. Hope to be a mildly active user of the forum. Cheers Matt
