pogweasel Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 ... what's the car at the start of this vid? Cos I am stumped.
pogweasel Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 Not convinced by the american-spec bit as it's RHD, but maybe. Not sure/
dollywobbler Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I'm not. Think it's just a right-hand drive Mk1 Passat with circular headlamps. Well, Google says they exist... (I can't say for sure!)
barrett Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 A five-door station wagon/estate was introduced in 1974. In Europe, the Passat was equipped with 2 rectangular, 2 round 7", or 4 round 5.5" headlights depending on specification.sounds about right to me.....and it's definitely a passat [/url] wikipedia to the rescue?
Station Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Here's a better video, although it's darker. It says the band were British anyway. There's no reason why the car should be American?
Spiny Norman Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 The bigger bumpers make it a Mk1 Audi 80 estate I reckon. Crap pic from IMCDB..
FredTransit Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 OO Mk1 luton! I regret getting rid of the body like that one.
RedSparrow Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I know this is stupid but it looks like some sort of Leyland Princess, but an estate. I assume there isn't even a prototype of such a thing.
r.welfare Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 No, it's definitely a Mk1 Audi 80 estate, 1976 model year. They fitted US-spec bumpers to the 80 and 100 for that year, presumably to use up stocks. Is this indicative of your musical tastes, Pog? It's kinda similar to Pilot if you ask me.
