LOL, they've got a new old stock R14 rear screen... Couple of years too late huh Regie!!

Posted

I spoke to the fella from this place this afternoon and apparently there's a huge amount of R14 stuff there. Even stuff like new seat upholstery which must be well worth having.

Posted

Actually I could do with replacement seat material more than anything else as it happens! I couldn't afford to take a big batch of stuff though, in fact at the moment I couldn't afford anything. But this definitely needs some investigation. Thanks for the heads up! :)

I went down there yesterday afternoon and spend the best part of a day there today rummaging around and left considerably poorer but holy moly there's some good shit in those stores! Regie, there's masses of R14 bits there and I reckon it'd all be sold off cheap as Chris the parts man knows full well there's next to no R14's left. None of the R14 stuff I saw is listed on their computer system so it's impossible to say what's there but there's panels and all sorts. There's a LH headlight for your 9 and is this some seat upholstery for it?

I spend a ludicrous amount of money on parts for my R30 and came home with the R16 well laden!

love your 16 8)

Me too  I treated it to some new bits today. Best R16 part I found was a brand new front carpet for it which is awsome as the one in it is pretty shabby...

I got a brand new scuttle panel and a rear panel too which are handy bits to have. Other than that I just got what it needed. new steering rack, brake pads... dull stuff like that. Parts are easier to get for the R16 than for the R30 so I concentrated on getting stuff for that. Here's an idea of the quality gear I found for the R30..

Rear quarter...

New LH wings (and R16 back panel)...

Door skins (RH one if facelift though) and exhaust and sill on the floor behind...

Upholstery..

Goodies...

Got a couple of windscreens...

More goodies...

And my best score by far... a set of new Boutique Amil alloys for the R30!

WOW, those wheels are great!

What are the 2 cars in the pictures?

Those pics are take here when i got home. The bare metal one is a '76 Datsun 160J SSS coupe and the blue and white one a '62 Datsun Bluebird estate.

Oh and if anyone fancies an R11 GTL... I clocked this lurched round the back of the dealer. It's up for offers. I've offered them a ton but I don't really have a use for it. If they'll take a ton is anyone interested? Looked pretty tidy from what I saw...

Wow, nice stuff there - but the Bluebird gets my heart pumping most! WANT.Have you stopped updating ratdat.com by the way?

:shock::shock: I've been meaning to ring them for the last week or so myself. Think i'll ring them later this morning. I feel a trip to Lincolnshire coming on....

Nice haul Ed.

Those amils should make your tyre budget a lot cheaper - how much is a tyre for the old metric alloys?

I think the door skin on the right is for the very earliest cars - they had the wierd upside-down door handles.

Just spoken to them, seems they still have a fair amount of stuff so I'll probably be having a mooch towards the back of next week. Best pack my big wallet I think 8) Reg, the have A LOT of R14 stuff from what he was telling me - certainly more than would fit in a car  but would probably be a good investment if you are keeping yours long term!

I've been working ten hour days all summer and the rest of the time I've been in my workshop so I've just not really had much time for it. I've not abandoned it yet though. I'll start again soon!

Good to hear (not the ten hour days but the other 2 points)!

REG!!!

YOU NEED THESE!!!!

(provided they have four of them - judging by the boxes behind - there's a good chance)

:D Not sure about pricing, not too bad from the conversation I had with them last week. I think I'll be going down there on Friday for some R4 bits!

I spent a lot of money there but to be fair the discounts over the list price were massive. Like parts that retail for about £350 for maybe £20 or £30. Panels are proportionately the most expensive but still way down on list. If you're buying a lot of stuff you'll probably be paying about half of what it cost them. If it's only a small amount maybe a third of retail. Some bits are ludicrously cheap. New front floor mat sets for our R11 were a couple of quid a piece.

I might have to pass you a shopping list & a wad of dough to take with you Nigel! Although if they want the R14 stuff to go in one lot & there is loads of it we'll probably be talking more than I can stretch to :(

Reg, I'd give them a ring about the R14 stuff tbh. Theres a lot of it but they are realistic enough to know that they will struggle to shift any of it. I would think that the R14 stuff could be very cheap if you take it in bulk. Chap at AC Williams to speak to is called Chris.

Well,Just to let you know that any Renault 14 parts that they had are now bought. The whole lot, whether they are for Mk1 or 2. 8) We have yet to catalogue just what we have as there are loads and loads of bits  The dealer chap knew nearly every piece but most were not on his parts inventory, so that's why we have to sort them.As a taster there are wheel trims, windscreens, exhausts, distributor caps and rotor arms, alternators etc etc..So, if you have any requests just let me know and I'll see if we have such things. :D:D
