Went out for a long stroll today with the camera trying to snap all the interesting cars i could remember, sods law said most of them weren't there but i found a few honeys to make up for it.

 

Right, this ones been sitting in a garden at the end of my road for at least 10 years. do the arches/stripe mean its a special one?

 

this ones round the corner from me, used to be proper shit with a dodgy white brush job but it caught fire and he rebuilt it into this. bit scene for some but i love the colour and it's still a workhorse. he also has a few 60s scooters and a wide-arched mk2 pension plan in his lock-up.

 

never seen this one before but it's only a couple of minutes from my house. again, maybe a bit scene but dig that period caravan!

 

used to be a daily but ill-fitting bonnet suggests it might be dead now. nice french plates.

 

WOW! nearly walked right past this as i was admiring a young ladies behind at the time. looked very straight from where i was standing. nearly my find of the day.

 

proper bit of shite here, tatty daily merc, didn't get the spec, but looked spot-on. later saw the owner emptying his wallet into it at the petrol staion.

van shite#2. there's a really early one of these about but i've only ever seen it on the move, looks great in silver with old-style black and silver plates. this one's a bit shiter.

2000, on the same road as the landy

 

yank shite. bloke used to have a 70's GMC panel van and a tatty 69 mustang.

 

he's replaced the 'stang with this! now this is a proper motor. galaxie 500 of about a 1964 vintage i think.

 

i presume this is his too, not moved for donkey's years. there's moss growing on the tires and it's a 'delux' apparantly

 

bit of a local landmark this, seen it driven about quite abit but god knows why

 

SPAFF ALERT! my absolute find of the day! would you believe totally mint, on serck plates too! this is the straightest old vauxhall i've ever seen, looks original too. gonna put a note on this when i pass my test, if it hasn't disintegrated by then

yeh i thought that squareback looked great, tis an early one too with the lovely slim sidelights. there was an early red notchback knocking about till recently but it went on ebay and dissapeared.theres loads of DSs about, i think i know the gold one you mean, often parked round the back of the old london road sainsburys, and there's usually at least one on the same road as the skoda but i missed it today. very popular car with brighton's arty type middle aged blokes. couple of CXs too but i've not seen one for ages.@seth - are you the fella with the borgward combi that was in C&SC a few months back?

no they are tucked away in his garage and i dont see him around much anymore. they are starting filming of the new remake of brighton rock on friday, it's set in the 60's for some reason, so there'll be loads of scooters about (its a mods'n rockers theme i think) i might pop out and see if there are any old motors knocking about, could be interesting.as for that porker, if it's not a pukka turbo he's certainly put all the right bits on it (outside at least), and it looks surprisingly good considering how long its been off the road. might offer him £200 for it lol

That colour is horrid mate vdp or not would of looked so much more plush in a silver or blue!The only good thing about that colour is it covers the rusty wheel arches very well lolThat 2cv goes up Elm grove where i work every day ,a youngish girl owns it and its always a treat to hear her screaming the tits off the poor little 602cc engine every day lolcheers Richie
