Father Ted Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 http://preview.tinyurl.com/yfztcef All being well, and time permitting tomorrow Im going to pop in to see this Cuore - anyone got any strong views on them?
pogweasel Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 I find the styling of these quite appealing. What a 'new mini' should have been. Anyone got a link to the VIP one on RR?
pandamonium Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Hang on a minute - You like that, but not the Nippa? Its the same car!!!!!
Milford Cubicle Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Isn't the Nippa based on an older Daihatsu design?
dollywobbler Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Well, yes, but it's still a bit like comparing a Mk1 Golf to a Mk2. They aren't really that different.
pandamonium Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Isn't the Nippa based on an older Daihatsu design? Not 'based' - It is, just has different badges! Engine still says Daihatsu on it. I didn't know the newer Cuores were 1ltr tho.
Father Ted Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 += N F T W Twas like wearing a tin overcoat. However just made the amazing discovery that the blue Pugger 406 on the garage forecourt across the road that has been there about 8 months and has dropped from £895 to £695 - which in my mind equates to about £550 pound notes.... Is in fact a TD, not as I suspected a 1800 petrol.I feel an enquiry coming on....The vehicle details for R473 DOB are: Date of Liability 25 06 2009Date of First Registration 01 03 1998Year of Manufacture 1998Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1905CCCO2 Emissions Not AvailableFuel Type Heavy OilExport Marker Not ApplicableVehicle Status UnlicensedVehicle Colour BLUE
Father Ted Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Fuck me! had an email from Evans Halshaw about a car I enquired about - the sender... David MashiterA sub grand Mundane - thats gotta be a wind up that name!
Guest Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Isn't the Nippa based on an older Daihatsu design?Yeah, the Perodua Nippa is a MK3. This is a MK5 aka a Perodua Kelisa. Despite appearances, there are quite a few changes, the width is totally different for one. There's not really anything you can pilfer from one to transfer to another, bar maybe the windscreen washer bottle and oil cap.
Pete-M Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Somewhat amusingly, a chap I know, his girlfriend turned up the other day in a 53 plate Peradua Kelisa Auto. 31,000 miles. Blue, 1.0.She paid £850ish for it.
Father Ted Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Big enouh to cart my sofa sized arse about in - plus it is a GLX - loaded with toys (all broken probably!)
Milford Cubicle Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Looks smart, I like 406s. I might get one as my next car (along with about a dozen other options).
r.welfare Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I found the 1.9DT in the 406 a bit slow, but they are comfy old buses. Make sure the coolant isn't a rusty orange colour and the cambelt isn't about to snap. £550 isn't a bad price. Peeling passenger airbag cover = they all do that, sir. Auto wipers on the GLX I think, you might even get lucky with a/c instead of a sunroof.
Father Ted Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Sadly Mr Welfare its a sunshine roof model - having said that I quite prefer the sunshine roof to A/C myself. It will be Saturday before I get to speak to the dealer.
r.welfare Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Check around the aperture for the ol' Warren Street Lace, then - my 406 had rusted in a very un-Peugeot-like way on the roof panel around the sunroof.
Father Ted Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Bloody Bumcakes n' Clag.No one seems to be able to tell me anything about the Pug, or even knew where the keys were.Getting incredibly pissed off at the lack of reasonably priced stuff out there. Bloody sCrappage seems to be drivig up the price of cheaper stuff.
Father Ted Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Proton-1-5-se-5-d ... 1c0d2f545f Looks nice
IanF Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Plenty of WIN in that. We had the slightly lower spec GL model in our family from new up until a year or so ago and it was a surprising. Reasonably quick and could also get it to hustle down back roads. Was a bit rusty by the end but that was more down to my uncle who used it like a skip.
pogweasel Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 That proton is f*cking horrible. Tiddly wheels and massive wanky dealer-fit bodykit. HOWEVER. It is £395, has a years ticket and 7 months rent, and has covered a pitiful mileage. Plus it sneaks cheap tax and will most likely run forever with disgusting abuse. Ergo, you should purchase it IMMEDIATELY.
Father Ted Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Oh For Fucks Sake Dealer shut down.Advert still live on ebay, phone number not ringing, looked through crack in shutters and place looks empty - came past a few Sundays back and the forecourt was alive with cheaper motors (£1000 - 3000), flags and bunting.Lack of Proton or other chod obvious. Bloody bloody bloody arsegrapes.
