And my personal favourite spot this time:

Posted Image

Saw it driving around later as well, by a middle aged woman. I dont know if its just me, but the car suited her.......

Either Tessa Jowell or Harriet Harman owns a 800 Mk1 - saw it on the news about 6 months ago.

Mandelson had a Mk2 Sterling, I remember it being on Ebay about 4 years ago.

Posted

If only he had the foresight to keep it, then he could have scrappaged it under his own scheme.

Update time!

Posted Image

I love this Metro, see it around quite a bit.

Posted Image

This is massive. I bet whenever theres a drug crime, the police go straight to this guys house.

Posted Image

Parked next to the Lincoln was this, plastic piece of nice.

Posted Image

Straight off the camera from this morning! Looked nice, shame about the trimz.

Posted Image

Immaculate.

Posted Image

Beige and gold, nice ornaments. The saab hasnt moved for 16 years!

Posted Image

Still quite a few Blueys left round here, with the number of banger tracks, thats quite an achievement.

Posted Image

Miliford Cubicle will like this.

Glare and frost make it really hard to spot things at the moment.

r. welfare, i didnt manage to see that other popley cortina..... sadly :(

Posted

Those Vanguard things look like a cross between a black cab and a beetle, but I like them... good spots!

Posted

The saab shocked me, it doesnt look that good in the metal, but 16 years has been pretty kind IMO.

Posted

great pics, ta fer sharing 8) hankering for a metro atm :( and a simca

Posted

Yes I like the Justy, thanks. :) I have not seen a Mk1 Justy in Scotland for a very long time. The 99 looks restorable... I imagine it's a bit grotty on the boot floors, etc. though.

Posted

Ta for the comments guys!

Have 2 more, spotted today in the Leisure Park car park.

Posted Image

I keep seeing this, every thursday at the same time, and just had to picture it to get rid of the niggling thought.

and this:

Posted Image

D plate is the earliest you can get with facelifted sierras, was in amazing condition too, I love seeing things like this, makes the scrappage scheme a distant memory.

Posted

That Sierra screams WIN!!Nice touch with the Ghia alloys on there too.

Posted

Went to the scrapyard in Aldermaston today, was mostly Fiestas and Corsas but it did have some fairly interesting tat in as well:

Posted Image

Sadly, this CF camper was not there reception, shame really.

Posted Image

Newest car was this 2006 Astra, ouch. Bodyframe held up pretty well though.

Posted Image

The main reason we went was to find a 2.0 cavalier, and lo and behold, here is one! May be pillaged very soon.

Posted Image

No plates on this, it must have been standing for a while before entering the yard surely?

Posted Image

The electrics still worked on this, pretty crusty though. No doubt a failed MOT.......

Posted Image

......as this could have been as well. Pretty depressing when your own college car is in worse shape than a scrappy car.

Posted Image

And finally, this is the oddity as its not had a CoD issued, and was mainly complete. I am presuming it has sentimental values.....

Anyway, pretty good yard, shame that there was more interesting stuff at the back where people arent allowed, such as a Ford D series and Toyota Hiace Camper, to name but a few. Fairly good prices as well.

Posted

DVLA states it as off the road since 1990, so its not a scrappage victim or anything, possibly saveable....

Posted

It was at the top of the yard, and they use either the cars power or a forklift to move cars. Its possible another car caused the damage, although it didnt do anything to the bonnet, possibly a tree fell on the front wing?

Posted

Expect to see the ID on a Defender forthwith....

Posted

have some more recent ones, i seem to be seeing more tat by the day at the moment!

Posted Image

Went back to the Tadley area today, and discovered another Sierra, this ones pretty desireable.

Posted Image

One for fred! First MKII i have seen for absolutely ages.

Posted Image

This just showed up randomly where all the car delears were, its not scrappage before anyone says.

Posted Image

This is also a newcomer, i was thinking where all the early 309s had gone, and then this babe shows up.

Posted Image

Another Capri. Sounds pretty rough but is a permeanant resident of this car park.

Posted Image

I maintain that old minis are shite if they are untouched......

And this updates fail pictures are:

Posted Image

That really didnt work.

Posted Image

Stupid phone camera.

Posted

Hey that Fiesta looks suspiciously like one that a friend owned some years back, I think it had been bought out of a scrapyard and smartened up, but has since done the rounds of club members and probably not looking so good these days.

Posted Image

Posted

Yep that is the very same fiesta! It doesnt look too good anymore to be fair.

Hello all, pretty big update this time round.

First up, heres the stuff from Chineham auto breakers which is of any interest:

Posted Image

Always thought these suited this colour really well.

Posted Image

And that was it, 2 sierras among late nineties dross.

Posted Image

Buff, nice to see one still being used everyday.

Posted Image

What is the top speed of these? Bet it sounds like a hornet in a tin can.

Posted Image

A propa 911, shame this one has begun to decay.

I went to london yesterday, and I have never been to search for tat before, and i was shocked at how much i saw in 2 hours, in 2 relatively small areas.

Posted Image

Spotless, nice wheels.

Posted Image

I love how in London you have this and a Bentley parked in the same row.

Posted Image

I havent personally seen a Dedra in years, nice shade of brown.

Posted Image

Not very faded, a good day at the paintshop.

Posted Image

Praries are so scarce now, this one was lovingly appaling.

Posted Image

Steve has let you down.

Posted Image

I love 308Ds, this one is how they should look.

Posted Image

Late eighties sensible vs not so sensible.

Posted Image

Pretty much every street gurantees at least something.

And these last three are from today in Sandhurst Tesco

Posted Image

Maybe the owner kitted it with a good engine too? Nope, 1.4 litres of power.....

Posted Image

OAP owned Sierra, lovely.

Posted Image

Not that old, but 21s have got so rare around here, this is the 3rd ive seen in as many months.

Also, annoyingly, in London both an Escort MKIII and a Cortina MKV drove past me. Has anyone spotted a B plate light blue Escort and an X plated black with gold pinstripe Cortina?

In my experience a lot of souped-up Ford owners neglect to tell DVLA that their vehicle has had a bigger engine fitted. In this case, an RS turbo engine would bump the van up into the higher road tax band...
Posted

Good point actually, I thought it looked quite good, and did look well kept.

Posted

Went to a house in Popley yesterday which had a rather nice white Escort XR3i in the drive - first vaguely autoshite car I've seen in the 'stoke for ages!

Posted

Really? Ive not seen that! Theres 2 in Eastrop which are white. I see quite a few shite cars out and about, mainly Fords. Popley has more than most, as does Oakley.

Posted

A week since my last update? God its hard to keep this up with icy pavements. Probably going London this weekend to try and spot some more stuff but heres my latest anyway:

Posted Image

Hmmmm, poor thing.

Posted Image

Plate has to be worth more than the car now.

Posted Image

I like these.

Posted Image

But this is buff, and in a lovely colour too. MOAR.

Posted Image

Non scene Caddy, VW really whored the front end of the MK1 didnt they?

Posted Image

The saloons are getting rare now, I think they still look proper sleek. Old woman owned as well, she has class.

Posted Image

For hirst #1

Posted Image

For Fred Transit, this arent even on flickr yet as im going pro asap, but not yet.

Posted Image

For hirst #2

Posted Image

I have never ever seen one before, what a cool piece of van.

But this was my best spot this time round, typical its hard to picture and is covered in snow but i dont care, it makes up for the one i missed the other day
