New thread.

This is because i feel my other thread had become a bit, and was a bit, rubbish really.

So this one is the better spots

Its amazing whats floating around Basingstoke, ive explored around a third of it and got so much. My village has loads of stuff in it as well, but sadly that surfaces when im at college

Anyway, heres the latest:

Posted Image

The engine ticks more than big ben, but its still nice. I havent seen a 25 for yonks before this one.

Posted Image

The most win car in Hook Station car park, its spotless.

Posted Image

New college car, apparently in 2 years its being sold, should i put my name down?

Posted Image

This is the oldest college car at the moment, its been abused, as you can tell.

Posted Image

I got ridiculed for sitting in this and loving the carpet dashboard

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Credit where its due, a mate of mine took these three, and he sent them to me because he knew id like them. Appears I have got another in the autoshite frame of mind!

Posted Image

Owned by the same person I presume, what a winner

Posted Image

Terrible angle, I know. But its pretty much a garden ornament.

Posted Image

I dont know why but it seems the late eighties Orions/Escorts are making a comeback as boy racer cars.....

Posted Image

As are these. I have always had a soft spot for 'em.

Posted Image

Wasteful, and its a 4.0. Needs some lovin.

Posted Image

This one was about 400 metres from the XR3 above, typical.

Posted Image

I dont remember the last time i saw one, why is the front end different to the Sunny hatchback?

Posted Image

Private plate worth about a million pounds.

And my personal favourite spot this time:

Posted Image

Saw it driving around later as well, by a middle aged woman. I dont know if its just me, but the car suited her.......

Posted

I love Monzas, such buff cars.Theres a white one that lives near me, but it only comes out at about 8am in the morning, when im either asleep, on the bus or at college. Brillllllllllliant

Posted

Good spots..I really hope the owner of JJB Sports rides about in the Rover 800.

Ah, well that's because what you have there is a proper Sunny, a B12 to be precise. The contemporary "Sunny" N13 we got in hacth and saloon form is actually a Pulsar (on the Cherry family tree) but just to confuse us Nissan sold a mixture of both in the UK all badged Sunny. The coupe is also a proper B12. :P

Ah cheers for the info Mash, didnt know that! :) I presume they are rare in this country? And the rear ends look about 10 years older than the front...........

Posted

Posted Image

I remember these and thinking they were a Bluebird of some sort, now cleared up - thanks Mash :)

Anyway, I liked them as I thought they looked a bit strange!

Only a few spots this time, but I think theyre pretty good :)

Posted Image

I prefer frieght rovers to any other version of these.

Posted Image

Remember when most Fords were this colour?

Posted Image

Not much of a fan of these, if only Reliant had sorted the shutlines.

Posted Image

Yes i know, common car, but one of the first registered. I dont remember seeing many other on F

Posted Image

My phone sucks at quick pictures. Was this the only Cav Vauxhall did an estate of?

Posted Image

Waste. Been sat since 04 as well.

Posted Image

If autoshite did campers....

Posted Image

This should be saved, it was a daily runner until April....

Posted

Some pretty good spots there, I like the marina with the wonky rear light from some past high speed ramming action.

I've had one of those and it was a really good motor. Very comfy seats and pretty decent performance. I really liked the odd styling at the rear...

They did also do a range of saloons with this same front but they were never shipped here.

Methinks a restyling job might have been better than fixing the shutlines

They are ugly as ............. :x

Here we are again for the latest Basingstoke spots.

These first 3 provide an insight into 'sly spotting'

Posted Image

Hold at hip level, failing to realise that its way off centre....

Posted Image

Stand in middle of road to make sure no cars obscure it.

Posted Image

Demand that driver of car stops to let you photo something.

Back to normal now

Posted Image

The revised Scimitar SST looked so much smoother, and they solved (most) of the shutlines. Yep private plate...

Posted Image

This is the only Safrane I ever recall seeing, even if i have seen it every day for 7 years.....

Posted Image

Oh didnt expect to see this, looks how it should.

Posted Image

Do any of you Land Rover guys know more about this? Its a 1958 model, i know that much

Posted Image

Hey, i dont ever remember seeing those lights on a capri, whats the score?

But whats this its next to..............Its my favourite spot this time round thats what:

Posted Image

Woah, SERCK plates, 3 different wingmirrors, a plethora of colours, still wearing its Telecom Yellow and its been converted into some sort of camper! Now thats autoshite.

Thats pure shite all the way, but dont they all look like this now? i bet you'd be hard pressed to find a clean one. Bet the owner has a nasty dog that lives on the passenger seat too.

Looks like he's just stuck some fluorescent tape over the top and bottom sections.

Oh...........haha. I should have guessed itd be that, considering his painting skills on the van..

That Land Rover only has the registration and some of the body panels from approx 1958. It's on a coil sprung chassis by the looks, so it's attempting to be tax exempt. Best crushed.

Bram, my mate has a Mk 3 Fiesta van (built as a van, rather than a car van) on an F plate. It is deliriously shite but also pretty ace, he has a non TD Xantia as well.STUNO, Reliant did smooth the lines off the SST later on by building a roadster called the Sabre. I don't they made many, but I do remember them having an S12 Silvia Turbo CA18DET in them.

But look at the laverley clean rims!

Perchance it's merely rat-look and hiding a pristine engine?

My first car was a 1.1 Ghia, reg July 89. There would have been fairly reasonable numbers on F prefix, launch was Feb 89 and they shifted plenty before G reg came in. Most long gone now of course! After the fish face mk4 came out in 95 they kept the mk3 shape going for a bit badged as Fiesta Classic which was probably aimed at stealing a few Cinquecento sales until they could ready the Ka for production. The ex Telecom Sherpa is indeed impressive, but can you find an original unmodified body for one anywhere! I think there's one in a field near the west end of the Jersey Airport runway.

Hello all, small update here, slim pickings lately, everythings been moving.

Hope you find something you like. sorry about all the rear shots, everything is parked front to a wall :(

Posted Image

Cant remember ever seeing one before, they look like a melting 800 from the back.

Posted Image

At first i thought it was a chevette estate, but DVLA checks up as a Chevanne! Buff.

Posted Image

Keef, this one is for you.

Posted Image

Painfully shite.

Posted Image

So you have a vinyl rooved, deep red with red interior capri and what do you do? Add cheap crappy alloys.

And my favourite:

Posted Image

I remember when i first joined, R welfare told me about a cortina in popley and id never found it, well today me and my mum did! One of my Favourite spots yet. The paintwork is so shabby!

Like this one i also spotted:

Amazingly, Brammy, that is a different Cortina! The one I'm thinking of is multicoloured, and is an earlier car - either L or K reg, and a lower spec, probably a 1600L. It's off Shakespeare Road.I've not seen that 2000E before though, so good spot. I'd say that Chevanne has had a replacement tailgate from a Chevette estate.

Posted

That cortina i spotted is so close to shakespeare road as well! Strange.Ill have to keep my eyes for that one then.
