Wd40. Duck oil. Baby oil , all will get rid of tar.

Wd40 or panel wipe for tar. Melts it nicely

Autoglym tar remover works great, if not WD40 as suggested also works pretty well!

My grandad had one identical to that (V840OOE). It’s still around apparently. To this day every time I see a Xantia Estate I’m taken back to caravan holidays as a child and that whistling noise when wind hits the roof rack,
