Interior cleaning

I need the assistance of the Autoshite rescue squad.

I'm not used to the luxury of cloth interiors (vinyl is where it's normally at) and the seats in the B are a bit grubby. Whats the best stuff to use to try and clean them up a bit?

Autoglym Interior Shampoo is pretty good stuff for cloth that isn't really minging. Meguiars have stuff too, but it's expensive, only as good as the Autoglym stuff and makes your car smell like a garden centre.

Simply get some ill-fitting blue and grey faux-velour seat covers from Halfords..... oh, hang on...

Foam tyre dressing and a wet sponge is a surprisingly excellent combo.

I've used StarDrops (as found in the household cleaning section of your local supermarket) before which was quite good!

i am a fan of directly applied cheap washing up liquid, a scrubbing brush and a very hot day (so they dry). Not that we have had the weather for that though....

Are they covers or the actual seats?I don't want to piss on your chips like (I know you've just bought it!) but they look a bit saggy..... are they removable/washable/replacable with a bit of tightening up?Failing that, 1001 squirty foam cleaner (used on carpets and stuff) with the brush on top. Use a tiny bit of foam and scrub it around well as it does leave stuff quite wet if you use too much. It then dries with the crud sort of loosened and you just hoover it clean.

Pressure washer and some TFR.

They do tend to get a bit wet though

Stardrops is good on anything, even bodywork.

Thanks for tips :) Yes the covers are a little "loose". I've changed the passenger side one for the good one that came with the car as it was worn through in places. They should eb glued down to the foam but I guess the glue loses its "stick" Saggy or not it'd be nice if they were less grubby. We might swap for a set of black vinyl if we see some very cheap but its probably not worth our while as its only suppose to be a temporary car so not much point altering it much.I guess careful application of a hair drier might help the drying process. :?

Brown Brothers interior cleaner. About £11.00 (I think) for five litres. Dilute it, rub it in and let it dry. Best stuff I've ever tried, highly recommended.

Shovel out all the crap, park it on a slope, knock a couple of holes in the floor with a cold chisel, and break out the steam cleaner. "It be raight" within an hour or two if you leave the engine running and the "heater" on.

Spilt 2 litres of milk in my marina once , stank to high heaven a week later , so opened door and let rip with the garden hose , got carried away and did the seats , roof lining and every place else , took a month to dry out even though i drilled holes in the floor , seats were REALLY clean might work for you  although i had to drive with a refuse sack on the seat for fear of piles.

TFR is Amarzin stuff for interiors just soak a rag with it and rub away, then wipe down with a clean cloth. Job jobbed.

If you want it done properly, this is what I've done to every car I've owned:

Clean!

They come out spotless, even better if you put it on two cycles. I did the seat fabrics as well.

Never stuck anything in the washing machine personally but I'm assured it works well. I have pressure washed many times, but please remove the seats from the car first!

The Mrs and I swear by Meguiars APC. Wonderful stuff, even when pretty diluted.
