Now surplus to requirements, perhaps it could become the new Autoshite Bike?

There's a whole thread about the car here which goes into some detail, so I won't bore you all again with that. Since I've had it, it's had the rear brake shoes & one wheel cylinder replaced and new glow plugs.

GOOD STUFF:

- It's taxed and tested until the end of October

- The Isuzu TD motor runs beautifully

- Tyres OK

- Strikingly good looking :)

- More capacious than an elephant's scrotum

- It does 50mpg on a run, loaded up

BAD STUFF

- Back box fell off about six months ago. It's just as quiet as it ever was though so I just ignored it

- The clutch slips if you try to thrash it. I don't, and it's not got any worse in the last year so it's not been a problem - if you keep the revs under 3000 it doesn't occur

- There will probably be welding involved in getting another MOT. I did the back ends of the sills last year and they still seem fine. It got advisories on the "N/S and O/S suspension spring mounting prescribed area corroded but not considered excessive".

- I broke the bonnet release catch, you can still open it but it involves taking the grille off (which is pretty easy)

All this could be yours for £50. Go on - help it cheat the weighbridge for another year, you know you want to!

Yorkshire.... I was the original AS owner of this very steed, and REALLY want it back, but have too much to do ATM. It's a cracker, a proper stealth machine. It flies when floored, but as he says, he keeps it under 3K. It has to be driven to be believed......I rescued it from the scrap line at work, resurrected it, and ran it for what seems forever. THen sold it. Seems like yonks ago. And it's STILL GOING!!!! Buy it, keep it, enjoy it. It's more than it looks.

Fucking bargain. One of the most reliable cars in the universe.

I can vouch for the reliability factor. Well, up until June last year anyhoo.......

Hey I want this but my internet's being too rubbish to sort out logistics at the moment!Would it be possible to reserve it for 24hrs or something? It only connects for 30 seconds at a time so I can't check out transport, insurance etc.My number's 07722 098982 if you wanna talk, thanks.

I had a j-plate petrol one of these a few years back. in red and an estate too. paid £50 for it. got it MOT'd for £40. drove it for a year - flawless. Then one day N/S/F bottom arm thingy snapped clean in half. Scrapped it and got £20 off the tat man for it. MOT was up in a few days so didnt care much. Just needed it shifting because it just collapsed in a heap, pulled the driveshaft out of the box, gearbox oil pissing out. Left a dent in the tarmac where it dropped.Definately worth the £70's worth of use. Started everyday and drove quite nice to boot - even without the power steering and ABS that you get these days. Would probably drove it for another year if it hadn't have just collapsed on the floor like it did. Astra mk3 reliability FTW!

BumpThis is still available, I need it gone sooner rather than later so if anyone wants it and can collect in the next week or so - shout up!

I want it too but we already have three Mk3s and wifey says no way to a number four. Gutted.

This is exactly what I need for a fishing wagon, but can't see the logic in travelling all the way to Doncaster from Surrey for a £50 mota

It's nearer Leeds/Bradford than Doncaster, I sold it to him.........I live in Doncaster. Go on, it's a belter. You can lob all your scruffy fishing kit in it, and not worry. Proper stealth weapon! One way from Surrey is cheap on the train/National Express to Leeds. Go ON!

Logic highlighted for clarity :)

Seriously though, it's got to be gone by this weekend one way or another. I've got nowhere off street to keep it and I need to cancel the insurance asap...
