Austin maxi engine dropped.

Giday , Im not familiar with the  1750 Maxi, my neighbor has one,the engine is just about sitting on the ground, the engine mounts although old look ok, is the problem the shock absorber on the front , or is the problem worse. thanks for your help cheers Muzz

Maxi engines are very tall, the sump hangs down low. Coupled with tired mounts and hydrasag suspension or could well look on the floor.

That oil filter looks very vulnerable - is there a history of them being holed resulting in a rapid (possibly terminal) failure to procedure?

Upon a rapid failure to proceed, you would also find the impact would have smashed the Distributor Cap to pieces. This may well have been a designed-in feature / bonus, as the engine would then be able to cut-out immediately; in turn saving itself from doom due to a lack of oil pressure.  Bright fellas, those Issignonists.

Incidentally, that front view of the Maxi is undoubtedly it's best angle...
