Might well be a Scottish thing, I've never had a car with working air con. think all but 3 of the 13 i've owned had it fitted, so still zero from 10.

Do you not find the aircon handy if you have it in use with the heater for dehumidified air?

I don't need mood lighting as I'm not trying to Roger someone in it

That bit did make me laugh.

Limp mode. The idea that the car can make itself dangerously slow and unpredictable at will is the most stupid thing modern cars do.

At the moment the thing I'm missing most is long wave on the radio to listen to the cricket, but actually maybe that is a blessing.

This really bugs me, the car can decide to ‘protect itself’ to drive at 25mph, fuck that, by all means let me know if I might be killing the engine but I want to make the decision if it’s safe to do 25mph on the M1 and it sure as hell won’t be. The other one with that is tyre pressure sensors, did a mini at work a couple of years back and then found it was limited to around 20mph until the pressures had been sensed. What if you did that at the services on the motorway? You begin to accelerate down the slip road only to find the bloody thing is stuck at crawling speed. A lot of inexperienced drivers I know would really panic at that.

Yep tyre pressure sensors "TPMS" what utter crap is that. Don't get me wrong I can see the reasoning & it is a good idea, but in practice it is often a pain in the arse. Every time I check the pressures I think the bloody thing isn't gong to work ok as one of the sensors may have thrown a fit. Luckily ours has a reset button but some as you say have to be driven to re-set, on some cars it's 20 miles before the light goes off . A girl I knew was constantly taking her Toyota back to the dealer due to the light deciding to come on for no reason. If it's really cold they can come on anyway, so potentially you can end up ignoring the bloody thing (thereby making it pointless).  Also the batteries have apparently a  finite life in the wheel sensors so will go pop after a few years.

They actually put me off checking my pressures as I worry they'll bugger up 'cos of me messing with the valve !

Here's another crap feature I thought of whilst waiting for the other half to get off a bus the other day - "Stop-Start", all I could hear were loads of motors switching off & starting back up when in traffic. Knackered batteries & starters anyone :?

I agree about stop start being a load of bollocks. I can understand it saving fuel if you are stopped for several minutes but if the buggers turn themselves off at every set of lights to turn back on again seconds later it has to use more fuel than just staying running.

I did hear Stop-Start was introduced due to some dodgy emissions rules/ tax bracket thing.

According to Howmanyleft.com, a trusted* site, I am the owner of the last bASe 305 dizzle on the road,

an obvious* privilege I think you would agree. Rubber mats you just pick up and shake the shit off.

None of that vacuuming nonsense. Easy clean plasticky doorcards, no rear screen wash wipe, no abs, no......

Easier to say what it has ,which is bASically fuck all. The only nod to any luxury, I use the term luxury in

its loosest form. is the heated rear window. Which doesn't work anymore. So I think I may have a bASe minus.

Blimey ! The responsibility !!!!

It helps with emissions, I love it personally. Modern batteries and starters are more than up to the job. It wouldn’t sell a car to me but I would happily have it.
