I just got 5l of there own fully synthetic stuff for £15 for the MR2. Was contemplating stocking up as they do VW spec stuff that the S4 would run on at the same price.

Normal. Own brand fully synthetic variants all have another 1-2 quid off already reduced prices

For some reason Castrol must have more water in.

When I use it in the omega I get more scum.on the bottom of the 810 cap.

Which I don't get with GM branded or Asda own brand.

It's odd how some cars react,  we went to Mrs 95's stepbrother last weekend, a most interesting man, he worked on engine development for the during of Benneton formula 1 GP cars, we were talking about keeping cars going, oh i only use Castrol Magnatec change  every 6k max    seems to of worked well in his 400k Merc and 210k panda

Went in Asda Sat for some beer and noticed the oil, their own brand 5w30 was £15, that said I can get Ford own 5w30 for not much more delivered.

Normal asda branded oils. 5L depending on type 10-13 quid they have 4 different 5/30 ....10/40....5/40.

Castrol stuff is 4L

I've used Halfords stuff for a number of years, but Magnatec before that - anyone know if there's a VW specific 5w30 in the range?

Thanks for the heads up I went into the big store in a dunfermline and they had plenty of their own on offer but not any Castrol. I got a silver bottle of 5w30 full synthetic. They had three flavours of the 5w30, all had the same api ratings.
