155V6 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 My Dad has lost some of his storage space,so needs to get rid of a couple of cars. The 1st is a Lancia Thema 2.0 Turbo,I think it's an E plate. It's been off the road for a few years, but does start & drive. He's only looking for scrap money for it,but it needs to go in the next week or so.Let me know if you want to know anything about it.
155V6 Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 My Dad bought it a few years back,he was going to get it on the road but never got round to it .I don't really know much about it,but I can find out,I could get some pics in a day or two if you want. What do you want to know?
Pete-M Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 How much it's gonna need to make it useable... Pics would be nice.
155V6 Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 OK,I'll try & get some pics tomorrow. If I can't,I'll at least speak to my Dad & find out what he thinks it needs
Dukestar25 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 You said 'couple of cars'... What's the other one?
fiatdaft Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 thema's are very underrated, don't let it go for scrap!
155V6 Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 Just been round to get some pictures & the camera batteries were totally flat ,my Dad wasn't in either so I couldn't ask him anything.Pictures will be up tomorrow,I'll ring my Dad later & try & get some details. As for the other cars,he did tell me his Lancia Delta may be going. It's a 1300 if I remember rightly.
mnde Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Lancia Delta, non Integrale?? Great Scott, do you know when the last time I saw one of those was?Get some new camera batteries pls Mark.
IanF Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Lots of happy memories of my mates Turbo (albeit the Series 2 16 valve). Fucking quick and don't handle badly either. Definately on the list one day. Good luck with the sale, would be sad to see another one dying
Pete-M Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Not an 8/32 so I will not be interested Interested now? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LANCIA-THEMA-8-32 ... 0393926847 I know where there's an unbelievably rusty one of those with perfect running gear. Bloke's restoring it, it's gonna be a proper wallet vampire, that.
STUNO Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Not an 8/32 so I will not be interested Interested now?a proper wallet vampire, that.HUGE want. Can just about afford it too !Thank heavens it's a 26,000 mile trip to collect it , that will cost more than the car.
155V6 Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 Update on the Thema.Just spoke to my Dad,he's started taking some bits off it as it now needs to be gone before Friday. It's on a neighbours driveway & there's an open day there on Friday as the house is being sold.If anyone seriously wants it,& can collect Wednesday(probably daytime)or Thursday(evening)let me know & I'll see what I can do.I'll get some pictures tomorrow.I won't be on here again until tomorrow evening, but you can ring me on 07799 087208(Tim).If I don't answer, leave a message as I'll be at my girlfriend's tonight & my phone doesn't work too well there. The Thema's not rotten, but does need some welding. Also,he said it goes really well, but I do remember it smoking a bit when he got it,turbo seals perhaps?
Pete-M Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 If he's taking bits off it, I'm out (as they say on Dragons Den)
Minimad5 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 If he's taking bits off it, I'm out (as they say on Dragons Den)I agree why is he taking stuff off it ?
STUNO Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Go and tie your father down now. And well away from the Lancia!
Pete-M Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Go and tie your father down now. And well away from the Lancia!Indeed. They're a bugger to get bits for at the best of times, there's no way I'm going to drag a trailer on a 400+ mile round trip for an incomplete Thema. If he's going to rip bits off it then he's pretty much condemned it to scrap in my mind. I don't mind repairing complete cars, but once there are random bits missing it's fucked. I'd end up trying to find and buy another Thema to get the bits he's removed, and that'd end up being another 400 mile round trip knowing my luck. What exactly has he removed?

MrRegieRitmo Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Giving the benefit of the doubt here, I'm assuming (I hope I'm right) that he means taking some bits off it as in, clearing things off it / from round it in readiness for moving it on rather than removing actual car parts. I can't think why he would start to strip it when there are people interested in the complete car, so I would presume that is hopefully what he means & it was just badly worded!
wuvvum Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I wouldn't worry about it - simply replace the pillaged parts with an assortment of Saab 9000 and Fiat Croma bits. Sorted!
Minimad5 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Ill just awaite the pictures and see if the other two are still interested Then its a matter of borrowing a car with a towbar and a car trailer
nigel bickle Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Still interested- &local (ish)-in a 'complete' car.A frame & dolly sitting here as well
155V6 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 Pics as promised, I spoke to my Dad,he said he was taking some bits off in case no-one wanted it,or could pick it up in time, then he'd keep them in case he got another one.If someone can pick it up in the next couple of days, then it will all be there.Really,he wants it gone tomorrow. If anyone is still interested, let me know & I'll PM you his number so you can talk to him direct. Here's the Delta that may be going as well-
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The scrapyard is the best place for that. It's just rubbish. However, I would be removing headlamps and all the electronic control units - they may have a value.
