See my problem with this Nova....

 

I would love, infact it's on my to do list, to buy a horribly barried POS like this and return it to almost stock, strip to bare shell, weld, paint and rebuild etc. However a few things put me off this Nova, and I would LOVE a Nova.

 

The car was originally blue, and it is a 5dr.

 

There is no doubt you could make it look fantastic with a lot of money thrown at it, a pointless exercise in just because you can... but my Samba Roller is my current *big* project so I'm out.

The idea, to drive a bog standard 80s pov-spec Nova 5-door, that has been obviously completely overrestored by a reputed vintage car restoration business, with a 40k invoice to prove it, to a classic car meet, is a strangely appealing way to blow one's lottery win.

If anyone buys that Scirocco I've got a set of rubbing strips you can have so it's no longer half naked.

 

The celebrity Renault 18 has been re-listed with a £580 start having attracted no bids at £595.  I fear it wasn't the 15 quid that was keeping the bidders away.

I've decided against as apparently my Hampshire storage has been lent out to someone else, which is rather annoying, and my attempts to find a lock-up locally here in Wales have failed.  Standing unused in the rain for three months until I sort something out isn't what this car wants.  It's a prime motor though - anyone else?

That 404 van thing is absolutely marvellous.

 

I'm intrigued by the 'slight airlock' problem on the 126. Wonder what the symptoms are?

Christ that Regata is HOT, its the 1600 twink as well! £3000 is a lot for a Regata though, its about £2700 too much for me

i agree, mide you it being LHD does put me off a little but its not a major issue. i would definitely not pay 3k for it though, £2500 over what i would pay for a regata.
