This thing is going to deserve it's own thread soon...

But I'm watching it again :)

He's now offering to buy a new handbrake cable for it if someone is "Seriously interested"... Why the absolute fuck, if the thing is so good, has this dick not already bought said cable, got Dent Devils (Who'll probably only want £30-40 cash in hand) to deal with the boot, £50 MOT (Cheaper in many garages), give it a touch of the "Doctor" with a nice pebbled driveway and some Back To Black (Or Black-Pack from Poundland) then stuck it on C&C for £995?? Ahh, that's right, because it's a base model 405 with an undesirable engine, in an undesirable spec in an undesirable colour.

What an absolute Minge this bloke must be.

As a side note, the bloke who sold me my Fiesta gave me a receipt with his phone number on, telling me to call him with any issues and if I buy the parts, he'll fit them F.O.C... This is my mingebag little Fiesta Endura... Yet;

This Pug is meant to be the gods gift to the Queens Highway and it's "Sold as seen" and if we dare "Waste his time" (Presumably by asking if 20p's are stuck in certain places etcetc), we'll "BE REPORTED TO EBAY THEMSELVES"

On another note, a Favorit Foreskin - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-SKODA-FAVORIT-FOREMAN-WHITE-/181099913319?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a2a656067

And a £1500 Maestro which looks like it had a similar encounter as the Green FSO Caro but was repaired by Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder whilst the poor buggers were wearing oven gloves... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-Maestro-2-0-Turbo-Diesel-/251244540355?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a7f5771c3

Badges don't look right where they are, the bumper doesn't line up and the OS quarter seems to stand proud, in my eyes.

This is getting a good price?

Presume a 998 too so not up for engine rape?

I dunno, I could see mini rich-kids paying a grand for a mint 8k 998cc a-series. Look at the crazy prices minis are starting to fetch - they've entered the trendy category along with VW campers and beetles.

RE the 405, he must've spent at least £250 on listings by now, maybe he hasn't noticed that fact?!

Actually, when I asked him about the handbrake, suggesting coins can cause it to jam (especially 20p pieces, lol) I got the following reply:

"Shit sorry I forgot to add in my description she does need a new handbrake cable and yes you are right the same thing happened to me hence why someone I know had to get down under the handbrake due to my loose change getting stuck. Sorry I forgot to list it and thanks for reminding me. If you are interested in my 405 I'd pay for a new handbrake cable."

Oh really? You "forgot" to mention it, even though you've advertised this car about twelvety dozen times? The bloke is a complete flange, delusional about his own importance and about the value of his car.

Right, we need to buy that 405 to prevent any further suffering; it'll become the Autoshite fleet car. I'm pledging £40 for a 10% share.

Posted

Shirley it's only a matter of time before that 405 has been sat in that garage for long enough to qualify as a barn find, and it'll be the only one left on HML?

And it'll still be too much money.

Hey has anybody seen that white 405 on fucking ebay?

Really? A 405, you say? Tell us all about it. Does it have a jammed handbrake? They're my favourite ones.

the electrics were a little fragile so we decided to call an electrician to check the wires etc, He came out and said that it needed re-wiring which wasnt a huge job but was easier to strip some of the cables and do it at home and bring back to re-connect it all, He has never come back and excuse after excuse as to why he couldnt do it that week and now phones cut off and has basically done a runner with some wires and the door key

That Cortina story, combined with the wob-&-tidemarked rear valance combine to paint a picture of a car that’s been expertly* maintained* by skilled* specialists* at considerable* expense.

Not a bodged-up shitter that’s been done over by whatever punk-ass cash-in-hand neighbourhood ‘mechanic’ happened to be passing by the lad’s front gate.
