"For sale is my ex-partners Ford escort rs turbo. I don't know much about it apart from that he spent a lot of money on it â€¦ I've priced the car reasonably as I wish to get rid of it from my back garden. Folder of receipts and papers here, service history is complete till 93,500 miles. Car is in impeccable condition and has been cared for very well"

Flippin eck.  Unless that's a scam it won't hang around long at £1300.  Last MOT was actually 10 years ago, mind, not the 3 she's claiming.  (On the positive side, it did pass.)

Edit:  Of course I'm naively assuming it's hers to sell, which it probably isn't.

Is this a serious ad, do we think?

It's like those apocryphal stories of £50 E-Types etc from scorned wives.

If I was closer, I'd be very tempted to nip round there though, can see it being messy , but if it's got a logbook and you get a receipt ............

Not sure a receipt is going to help much if it's not her car.  Even if you buy in good faith, you don't get to keep stolen goods.  It might help your case if the V5 is in her name... but do you want the aggro of getting in the middle of a domestic dispute?  In Glasgow? (other stereotypes are available)

this one is still for sale, and still lovely.

i like this one more than the russet brown one listed above.

and been 1500cc its cheaper tax, and been a TC it'll be no slower than the 1750.

again, if i owned it, i'd ruin it......

@MM: No way, never!

After posting that, I did remember that our very own Eddy_RR had one of those Blazer things.

An Agro estate is high on my hit list though, we can never see to many of them.

I'd like to make one into a pickup but that's wrong right?

Is it just me or does the retrofit Leaper just completely bugger up the classy lines of these?

no its not just you, cos i don't like to see a leaper on an XJ40, X300, X308 or X350 etc.

they look wrong on any Jaguar newer than 1968! (if not earlier....)

 yes, so very, very wrong.

if you did commit such a heinous crime as that, i'd have to sent the boys round to give you a good, stiff talking too.

Two door estates were bonkers. There used to be a beige mk1 escort estate that a local driving instructor had for years. Had a primer wing for the last 10 years I saw him working but then it was 25 years ago at least.

doesn't the FX4 have a separate chassis?

if so, then you stand a chance of the car not folding in half when you take the roof off of it.
