Cheap VVC.

Garage kit level = encouraging

FOR SALE IS A 1996 MGF 1.8VVC, GOOD ALL ROUND CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT.

IT HAS NO MOT BUT FAILED LAST AUGUST ON EMMISIONS AT TICKOVER, BRAKE IMBALANCE ON REAR,HEADLAMP ALIGNMENT,AND SUSPENSION ONE SIDE.

I HAVE PUMPED UP THE SUSPENSION, AND CHECKED THE EMMISIONS THEY SEEM OK. THERE IS LITTLE WORK TO DO.

IT HAS AN EXTENSIVE HISTORY AND HAD AN ENGINE REBUILD AT NINE THOUSAND MILES BY MG ROVER UNDER WARRANTY.

IT HAS BEEN LAID UP SOME TIME BUT APPARANTLY PRIOR TO IT'S LACK OF USE

IT HAD THE HEAD GASKET DONE, SADLY THE IDIOT THAT DID IT BUT BACK THE

LIFTERS ANY WAY SO IT IS A BIT TAPPETY.

IT DRIVES FINE AND IS FAIRLY QUICK, NEEDS A CLUTCH CABLE AS IS VERY STIFF, DUE PROBABLY TO BEING OFF ROAD.

Also how fucking good are these service lights!

Let's get the clichés out of the way first.

Rare opportunity; First to see will buy. Increasingly rare classic car; Excellent example of this much-loved family saloon; Try finding another; Reluctant sale; L@@K.*

*Really not sure how this benefits an eBay ad.

Anyway, after two and a half years, it's time to say goodbye to the Honda Accord 1.6 Hondamatic.

It was 'rescued' back in September 2013 after its elderly owner decided it was time to move it on. The lady had been advised to scrap it, but having lavished so much care and attention on it for the best part of 30 years, she decided - quite wisely - to find a new owner.

We jumped at the chance and drove the car back to Devon. Since then, the Accord has passed two MOTs with no advisories and - until recently - not put a foot wrong. As you'd expect from a Honda Accord, it has been a paragon of reliability.

The rest of the ad is really well written, sounds like one of us TBH

EDIT:

There's a huge blog about it here. http://petrolblog.com/2016/03/honda-accord-hates-winter-storage-throws-a-hissy-fit/

This needs to get bought!

There really should be a Helpline for all those who once owned a classic Volvo. I now have to face up to a very untimely parting. This is Ron (Ron Burgundy) he is my 5th Classic Volvo. I use the car for short regular work journeys and it has worked a treat.

This car will still go on for many years if sold to the right volvo person who is tuned in to the typical needs of classic volvos and, prepared to keep him in the respectful manner in which he is accustomed.

Coming soon to a banger circuit near you!

Very smart Consul (Classic) 315 with steering wheel wrong side, wrong engine and horrid wheels....and its touch and go whether it should go in the *Bargains* thread at 10,000 of your British Pounds. All the right bits are included in the deal though apparently

Still....its a Classic init and therefore to be coveted!

Have any of us ever shipped a car from NZ to UK? I wonder how much it costs. If its less than £50,000 I might try to flog the museum and put a bid in on that Sunny with the performance warning.

Happy to assist in collecting and shipping, Mr. B. I reckon the sale of your camper would about cover the cost, sadly. That is however pure speculation, though I do have a couple of shipping contacts I've just found out about.

In other news, I quite literally cannot stop looking at this 2500. What a beauty, and local, too!

BIN is just shy of £1200. Hmmm........

I know they ship VW campers from Aus to UK, and last I heard it was about £1k. I would expect shipping from NZ to be similar.
