eBay tat volume 3.

Ooooosssshhhh!!! Those are such morbid-looking old crates. The styling looks dead sharp on the older ones like Seths but by the time theyd lashed those big bumpers on and all those chrome bits they look like a lame-ass version of the family Truckster. WOULD, obviously

They added all the tat gradually and it worked, my grandad's neighbour bought a new one every year and I remember him pointing out the new features* over last years. I'm sure one even had a Fablon wood panel on the tailgate. He died in 1978 which probably caused the demise of Humber.

The going rate for a 2nd hand mk2 mx-5 1.8 engine is about 250 quid. One of these is more like 1200! You could probably get the original rebuilt for that

Is the Mk3 MX5 engine the same as a Ford Duratec, like what you'd find in a mk3 Mondeo?

I'd imagine the sump and all the ancillaries would need swapped over, but it seems that Caterham used Duratecs so the mounts presumably allow for longitudinal installations.

This old Fiat/Seat 132 with a factory-fitted Mercedes 2.0 NA diesel engine has winked at me before, its been for sale (in Portugal) for MONTHS. I shall be in the vicinity in a couple of weeks, I am daydreaming about going and actually buying it, what an all-time shite high point that would be!!!

According to Wikipedia the mx5 has a Mazda engine although being Wikipedia it's almost certainly wrong

I can't believe you're debating this b0l. It would be like the chase scenes from Tony Arzenta with a ponderous diesel chug dubbed over the top.

I know, it would be like 400quid to buy the car though, and £1200 to go back and get it later on!!! It would be a SHITE REVELATION though.

This must have belonged to Frank Grimes (or Grimey, as he liked to be called).

The registration G21 MYS (Grimey's ????) is included in the price, as it was when I purchased the car.

Yes, the inclusion of the numberplate is pretty de rigueur.

Bloody brilliant.

But why is he banging his head with a glass of Coleman's?
