i've seen quiet a few ls400's in the scrappies, and i'm always surprised to see that the engines and gearboxes are still been fitted.

i would have thought that these would have been perfect for hot rodders/transplanting into something else.

And I thought it was the cat that made that smell.

I think the ls400 motors are quite hard to get manual gearboxes onto which all the drift lickers and the like want. You need a supra 6 speed box which are made out of unobtainium.

it must be the farmer - no cat because...

MG Maestro Turbo for the stout hearted.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Mini-for-restoration-1971-tax-exempt-/111762466080?hash=item1a058fe520

I quote :

It will be obvious to a Mini enthusiast that 1971 makes this a MK3 car.  It will also be plainly obvious to an enthusiast that this is not a MK3 shell.  The car has at some point in its life been re-shelled in to a MK4 shell and de-seamed.  It looks to have been de-seamed pretty well, with spreader plates welded on the inside of the shell bridging the seam butts.

This car will take quite a lot of work, but deserves to be restored and put back on the road.

The original 1971 Commission and VIN plates, along with the V5 are present.

That Ami sold for about half what it's on for now a while back. Looks like it's had absolutely nothing done to it since then, although it has moved slightly closer to my house. Dangerous!
