Mr_Bo11ox Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Oh yeah, that mesh in the grille was a great idea Completely agree, sack that wood off it looks shit The "problem" shows low break pressure and low fluid level on the dash, I have spent over £700 on new parts which solved the problem for two weeks, but subsequently the light has come back on the dash. Money well spent http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-XJ40-1988-3-6-/141445618399 Conrad D. Conelrad 1

rml2345 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 That Avante looks great! Makes me wonder if it's all show and no trousers.
garethj Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 It's like xr3i's. There seems to be 9 convertibles for every 1 hatchback for sale. Who bought them all? What are these Land Rovers actually like? There's so much scene tax, life style one life bollocks about them it's hard to get a gauge on them. This pickup is for sale with the 2.5 di engine (I presume from the transit) for £2200 and it's doesn't look to bad. I http://www.gumtree.com/p/vans/land-rover-110/1085611064Bit of a marmite car, in terms of what you get for your money a Toyota or Nissan is better for performance, space, comfort, probably reliability too. However the Land Rover has a huge amount of charm and the simplicity means they've got real integrity, but that's all lost when you hang aftermarket accessories on it. If it's badged 110 or 90 then a diesel would have the 19J engine, a diesel turbo. The Defender (110 or 90) came with the Tdi, first the 200Tdi and later 300Tdi and they are a much better engine. Conversions are available and have been done, but check for quality of installation. Rust on the chassis is the biggest problem (usually most visible on the rear crossmemeber where other cars have a rear bumper), rust on the bulkhead comes next. Otherwise they're quite easy to fix, parts backup is excellent and forum support is good too. I'm 6'1" tall and it's got enough room for me but you have to bend yourself into its shape. A bit like riding a motorbike really.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 This excellent knob van is back on leboncoin: http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/721479163.htm?ca=7_s So tempting. I'm thinking drive to Luton airport with the A frame in the boot, flight to CDG, train to where it is, drive it back to Luton airport, hook it on the A and drive home. Outbound flight is at 7.10 am so could even do it in a day. I've studied the logistics man. nigel bickle, cms206, 500tops and 4 others 7
phil_lihp Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Which car gets the ladies wetter than an otters pocket? Pretty sure that belongs to someone on here (or used to).
willswitchengage Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 There is so much to say about this listing, none of it good. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-AX-1-5-Diesel-33-000-miles-/301363502670 That's been on ebay several times before at scrap value. Skizzer Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Someone bought a big house overlooking Gateshead and got a tidy-looking XJ8 with FSH for free. Then listed it under 'car manuals and literature', which helps explain the lack of bids. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-Xj8-Executive-/261631877306 No MOT, but whaddya want for £250?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 CHANCE FOR SOMEONE TO ACQUIRE THIS MINIMALIST,ECONOMIC AND STYLE ICON CLASSIC I can imagine John Prescott evocatively slamming shut the back cover of Terence Conran's 'Directory of Design' book, then writing the above bollocks
nigel bickle Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Doesnt work Boll, You'd need to drive around 150 miles to Calais, in an unroadworthy car that hasnt driven in 6 months. Dieppes a little closer, but a much slower crossing. Of course if you took the paperwork & plates from a Uk equivalent, together with a large bag of spanners.....

dugong Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Until the gearbox shits itself. Or the ignition goes. Or it causes Volvos to break down. Or one of many other mysterious maladies.

Almost tempting...hey Bo11ox, chuck that on an A-frame behind the 305 van when you're heading back, yeah? Thanks.

Thanks.Yeah I thought that and not too far away. Trouble is the poole cherbourg crossing with the trailer is 500 quid which removes any profit that could of been had. Unless anyone has any shit that needs transporting out there to cut costs
