Who puts filler on sills? Luckily that's the extent of it, have put some paint over it for now until I can get it sorted. Now seems like a good time to learn how to weld.

Ha Ha... "Now seems like a good time to learn how to weld."

#1. Clamp to body, use wooden workbench.... or you're likely to weld the car to the bench top!

... Sorry, misread the page..

In the unlikely event that anyone other than Mr tooSavvy is reading this thread, I'm looking for either a cheap welder (inanimate) or a cheap welder (person).

Any suggestions grateful read and I may even heed them..

With a car *'not swiss cheese' a quality wipe over, by a competent metal sticker person, is quick & worry free.

*Alternative reality may be found with BL ownership.

Absolutely am reading it, but can't help you with those things sadly.

In other news I've cured the interior light issue, which was more irritating as it was connected to the headlight pixie, so I kept leaving the lights on.

How did I fix it you may ask? WD40, obvs.

Still procrastinating on the sills.

So I picked up some wheels of course.

Just Sunny steels with some trim rings I had lying around

Yep, definitely prefer that look. Rear is lower as boot full of the old wheels.

Wheels look good.

I'd ignore the rust until it fails the MOT. Looks normal. Maybe daub something greasy on it to slow it down.

These Vx (plastic alloy trim delete) look nice...

That's odd. I noticed a set of these wheels in black on some kind of Vauxhall yesterday for the first time ever. One of the trims had fallen off... Very unusual looking steel wheels. Had me thinking at the time, although I'm not sure about that picture.

^^^ wallet wilting MOT record you have there m8 :/

They've been doing them for a while now. The Vectra C had them on some trims. Focus, too.

The Corolla looks really well on those sunny steels to be fair. Those VX wheels I nearly bought a set of five spoke ones for my old Vectra, I prefer steel wheels to alloys and they have a really nice look about them.

The Corolla looks much better on the steelies imo. I love the chrome trims on it too.

I'm looking for an offside front wing, as my bodge is starting to rust again. :(

I was tempted but £61 postage, fuck that.

Fuck that indeed. Probably cheaper to hop on an easyjet and collect.

Just a couple of snaps because I think it's a cool looking car, and the colour isn't as offensive as I first thought...

Going to actually do a proper for sale advert for this, take some decent pics, maybe even wash it.

I need more fuel economy and also I'm bored with it!

.... Ahh >> Boredom!

We had the auld barge up North Teesdale, for Sundays lunch...

@Eggleston

.... roads were fairly awash with fields draining off - looks like we had been Greenlaning! :)

I passed my test in one of these, on the day my instructor turned up with a neck brace on and a headache as she'd been rear-ended with the pupil before me on a roundabout, so I didn't get my hour prep before hand, but luckily her husband who was also a driving instructor had an identical Corolla, so at least there was some continuity!

Fond memories, but I have too many on the fleet for my wallet etc and so forth, so have a wee bump if that helps :)

If I didn't already have a car I'd be all over that now, especially with the present wheels. Good luck with the sale!
