I just tripped over these in a sale room. Any idea what they're from?

Twin port two stroke suggests 1930s, no idea of a make though.

I think you've found a match there; both the engine and the gearbox look very similar.

I've got a JAP 2-stroke engine in my stationary engine so they at least dabbled with it for motive power.

I popped into the saleroom after work and sadly I did not win. (Even after sending Mrs h to up my bid on her way to work).

 

I understand they went for £70 + commission.
