I’m not sure half these that turn up ought to be buying a second hand car with how fussy they are. The price might be attracting the nutcases, it’s cheap enough that they’ll think you’ll take fuck all for it. I’d put it up somewhere else at £1500 and let them think they’ve got a great deal when you let them have it for a grand.

 

This is my pricing strategy nowadays, never advertise something too cheap, go with what similar models are selling for even if it seems too much. Worked with the Auris and the Civic. 

 

Obviously more difficult here when it's a rare car.

 

If you go with ebay make it a classified ad and switch off the best offer option-that way they have to email/call you. it only costs £15 and has done me well in the past.

If you do get hold of the 405 I'd be interested in having the wheel trims off it, I want a scruffy set for mine for general driving about. If the 405's not a complete dog they aren't a bad old bus for tatting about in.

I'd have to bin the alpina alloys but other than that it doesn't look bad.

What the fuck are you on about? I put up all the stories of time wasters for entertainment, I know that the car is unlikely to sell to the majority of penniless losers on here who don't have any interest in old cars so I'm not expecting it to have a detrimental effect on my sales thread.
