Roverageous
First LPG fill up. Quite an odd experience! There are no real filling stations near me that supply LPG, but there is a hardware shop that does gas canisters etc... and they will also fill your car. You just reverse onto their forecourt and they fill it for you. Charged 62ppl including VAT and the tank took 64 litres. If I managed to achieve 25mpg out of this thing (I don't know if that's realistic yet, while its running on gas) that would give me 350 miles from a tank of LPG. Cost wise, that would equate to an equivalent of 51mpg running on petrol. We'll see! jumpingjehovahs, Dan_ZTT, Lacquer Peel and 1 other
Roverageous
This fine vehicle has been away for a couple of weeks, as the MOT was due up in November. I got it booked in with my local MG-Rover specialist / nutcase, who is very good about me just leaving cars with him and instructing him to “just sort it out”.He’s given it a thorough going over and I’m pleasantly surprised with how much work wasn’t needed! It’s had a full service, suspension rebuild at the front (new shocks, top mounts, springs, bushes, drop links & track rod ends), the headlamp wash system (required as it has xenons) sorted out, and a few other bits and bobs as required. Picked it up yesterday and it does drive very nicely now considering it is 14 years old & has covered almost 160,000 miles. It was previously owned by an enthusiast and as such has had large jobs such as the cambelts / water pump / thermostat, brakes and rear suspension done already. The KV6 motor doesn’t show its mileage at all, seemingly using no oil and sounds very sweet from cold - even when it’s been left a couple of weeks in cold weather. Happy chap! Split_Pin
How on earth have I missed this?! What a marvellous 75, I have never seen one of these in detail. Interestingly, the Roewe 750 wheelbase is midway between standard length and your limousine. Keep up the good work on it. Believe it or not those garages are my stockrooms at work. I do have a similar sized garage where my standard length 75 lives - but the limo is strictly confined to the car port! I'd like one but I think starting at £2750 is a bit ambitious given it's been off the road for 5 years... also the MOT history is a bit odd - a pass in September 2009 then nothing till March 2013 when it fails twice, but in the 4-year gap it's done almost 50,000 miles, then sitting 9 months till a pass December 2013, then nothing since... Roverageous
I was using this until mid January and then got bored so decided to use al length one for a while - which is now due for an MOT. So the limo got recommissioned today and my registration transferred onto it. All is well apart from the fact that the number plate supplier has sent me an illegally spaced plate, so we’ll see what he wants to do about that... mercrocker, LightBulbFun, The Moog and 1 other
